Here are some photos of the kit. I am quite impressed with it. It is much bigger than I though and the painting is nice as well.

Here is my weight breakdown:
Airframe: 30 ounces
10 servos: 3.5 ounces
2 Wicked 4000: 5 ounces
2 Pentium 40: 2.5 ounces
2 4S2200 Flightmax 20C lipo: 16 ounces
Total weight: 57 ounces (3.56 pounds)

I expect the watts to be about 550 per fan when settled so 1100 total watts makes 310 watts per pound which I think is a good amount.

I have been holding off as I was sold out on 40 amp ESCs but more arrived today so I expect to startup tomorrow as I have back orders to fill tonight.

Hey Don - Hope your build is coming along. I got one of these things yesterday and it's pretty impressive just in the box! I installed a receiver and a charged battery, to see if all the electronics were working properly and I encountered something odd. The radio is bound and all servos are working properly but anytime the plane is energized there is a very loud beeping alarm. Despite apparently normal functioning, the alarm persists. Did you encounter that as well and any suggestions?

Thanks,

Richard

Hey Don...Sanford hear... FYI.. My stock is 60oz,, I added a parchute drag and or missle launcher out of the tail boom..... My stock set-up with a tp 4350 is 1024 watts at 66 amps.. You will love this bird.. still learning what it can do.. Looking forward to your updates.......It seems to fly best for me at about 3/16 forward of the recommened cg.. I flew on the cg and it seemed real sensitive on the elevator
Hear is a vid, poorly done, look closely of rocket launch...

Once its armed you have to give it some throttle to engage the engines, otherwise the beep will drive you crazy...It goes on and on....just telling you..its time to fly and if you don't I will keep reminding you

Su-34

I don't undrstand the rear missle. I think a parachute would be nice.

Anyhow I just finished the SU-34 and trying to add V-mixers along with 3 gyros to do high alpha with stable flight in high wind.

Anyone using gyros on this bird.

Also where can you buy the dean connectors that Hobby city use to sell that had the ridges on the side to make pulling apart a lot easier.

OK guys, I finally have my power system together. I am using the EDO 64mm fans and the Wicked Plus 4000KV motor. I am getting about 675 watts per fan and about 50,000-51,000 rpm which is more than than the regular Wicked 4000 gets on 4S in the same fan. I also dynamically balanced the rotors and they sound sweet, photos to come shortly.

Here are few photos.

I used the EDO fan unit as the stock rotors are know to blow apart so I went with the EDOs as the rotor is a stiffer plastic and so is the housing. I cut the tabs off the housing so I could rotate the motor wires.

I agree the EDF'a that come with the SU-34 are a little on the cheap, cheap side of EDF's. I have not heard of any letting go, but it would not surprize me. I ordered the RCLANDER EDF's. Using 4000kv with 4S.

I just spent all day programming the radio with 4 mixes to make this fly. I did seperate the elv and AIL servos to have their on channels to do what I wanted, like high Alpha and more control on flat spins

Soldered my ESCs together and added 14" to the battery leads. I also seperated the signal line from one ESC servo plug. Since the Pentium 40 ESCs have switching BEC they can not be plugged together on a Y harness unless you disable one BEC. Because 10 servos are needed, I actually plan on using one BEC to power the flight controls and the second BEC to power the retract servos only so I will be usuing both BECs but they will be seperated from each other.
