My first autogyro

Hi all.

I have finally got a little bit of work done on my Autogyro build. As its my first gyro i've opted for the Kellett Profile. I know quite a few of you have them already and have probably seen the builds on here but I felt like sharing mine with you. Its up to you guys then if you follow it

Heres my progress so far, like I said, only done a little.

Hopefully get an hour tomorrow on the build, between dirty nappies!

Iain

ps, how do I get the pics to show on here?

Iain,
To show your pics, click the "new reply" button, enter text as you would normally, and just below there is a "manage attachments" button, click on that and the rest should be obvious.
Good luck with the build.
Regards
John

You are doing a bang up job with the Profile Kellett! The sheeting is perfect my friend! I cant wait to see her in the air. Coming along nicely.

Yey. I got a couple of hours in the hangar so I did a bit on the gyro build. I sanded down the edges of the fuselarge parts and cut out the two vertical tail stabilizers, the rudder and hinged part of the head. Also got the holes cut for the two rotor servo mounts. Then I had to pin it together for a quick look

My next session will probably involve cutting the hinges in the rudder and elevator. I want to put the engine mount on the firewall too. I'm not going to cut out for the tail servos untill i have made the blades and put it all together, i can position them for good balance if I wait til the end

Not sure how to go about making the blades, and what to make them out of? I cant get hold of any SIG aerofoil material over here?

Maybe Rich can steer you in the right direction for where he gets his wood and what it is he uses. Ramen wood? for the leading edge and the balsa for the rest.

Maybe Richie will jump in here and give some guidence....
