This is not the carpet race you prepared 20 sets of foamies for, is it?
Obviously there's a lot of grip but it doesn't look like carpet.
There's another vid from the same place from last year on youtube, running nitro cars. Is this a permanent track? It's the same layout.

A Model-Toyfair with a lot of practical Modeling shows inbetween the stands
and halls. Its beside a Airfield and theres a great show there. They even have
a hall with a swimmingpool for Sailboats and Submarines... and there is
a radiocontrolled subway too.... (not seriously)
It is that race I did those foamies for.. guess what tires were on the podium .
It is a asphalt floor not like on tracks. its shiny. No idea what it is called in
english, not even german. Anyway they spray a dragstertrackbite god knows
what it is onto that.
Then there are the Nitrocars doing laps and laps. We share the track with 1:10th
and 1.8th Nitros for the weekend.
The only thing that works are foamies.. but it is unbelievable. You have to been
there to know what I am talking of. Luckally only insiders know of this race
otherwise we would be holding the world championship there every year ...
Just as a comparison: Compared to 1:8th Nitros we did 143% of car times.
(Example: Bike 23,337sec. divided by Car 15,558 sec.....equals 150%)
If you know the times of 1.8th cars on your hometrack and divide the best
times with yours you know what I am talking about.
A excelent time for a Bike is usually between 147- 156% of that of a 1.8th Nitro.
(There is only a singel track where this formula doesnt apply )
On the Video from last year you see some biking too:

Time for you to come to dormagen. The compafison bike to 1/8 nitro car is about 145 % and will be lower next year as we progress.
We have that grip level all year

I was just calculating the fast times at my local track: The fast 1/10 nitros and the fast 1/10 electric TC's do 15.9 laps. I do 24.8 best, with the (only!) fastest (my Worlds stock!) bike, though usually I am around 25.4-25.5... (I do 17.7 with my electric TC!).
So... I am doing 1,57 compared to the fast guys, but only 1,41 compared to... myself! Not bad, eh?!!!

Or you´re riding almost the same way you drive a car. I never had the chance to push my bike to the limits achieved when I raced TC.
Seems I´m far slower as become older

One very serious question, Edi...
How often do you change ball bearings on the wheels and layshaft(s) of your race bike and what kind of bearings do you use? Ceramic? Normal TT-like bearings?
|Nov 15, 2012, 03:29 AM|
Layshaft bearings quite regularly every two weeks. Wheels approx. every 4 weeks.
You know how much I drive
I have quite good standard steel bearings. Forget ceramic they are ruined after the

Introducing the new JABBER 201? 2WD.
Two Wheel Drive: Double power and traction on the rear Wheel.
Two sided brake discs on the front. Double friction to stop the beast.
Crashbarless design: No more need for Marshals. No need for a bike
stand in the pits. Highly improved all terrain capabilities.
Dual Transponder: A second transponder per bike to be sure your laptimes
are counted correctly.
Infinite Ackerman: The dreaded Ackerman hardly anyone understands, now
can be adjusted infinitly during turn in and out of a curve.
Telepathical Rear Differential: A electronic rear differential sophistically connected
by telepathy. At last a differential that is designed for the special needs of a RC Bike.
On demand Toe in for the rear axle: Autonomous power distribution to the wheels
on the rear axle means you do not anymore need to decide in what direction you adjust
the toe in on the rear of your bike.
Servoreverseless Steering: At last the bike turns in the exact same direction
you steer it. One of the most mindboggling issues on conventional bikes

Never mind. Now the video is now released from private settings, I see what Edi was referring to.
