I may only be able to make Saturday, although I will do my best for both days.
As Rich says, weather dependant. Wind not too bad within reason, but torrential rain will really spoil the party.

Hope I will see most of you on the Saturday??? Also hope to have the RRPPGG flying by then (twin motor for those of you who have not seen the thread).

no problem if you want to bring fixed wing.
Flying is 24/7 so if you can see it you can fly it, we have no restictions apart from from flying in the car park or through the tents and caravans "although some have tried"

Pre Fly in gyro shakedown.
1. PT electric gyro flew great.
2. BEGI prerorator started to engage with shaft( slightly bent) and shook the head to destruction!!
3. RPG with new motor and speedcontroller with 3s chinese 2800 lipo, hot day. 10kt wind.
got airborne and sat 12 ft up making no headway into wind. controls very slow to correct model. Landed changed to 3s flightpower 2500...great power.decided to handlaunch flew well but even with rates off very poor roll control landed heavily and rolled over.
Tail broken off( clean break) CF control rods broken. Tail repaired and new control rod needed before next week.
Obviously need to read the instructions or increase control throws. add 4s pack ,very stable in flight though.

If you can get more roll control I would try that, it needs quite a bit with the 3 bladed flat bottomed aerofoil, what servos have you got installed?. Sorry to here about the BEGI..I bet it was spectacular! can it be repaired in time?
I did think about going flying today but the trees were bending right over and it would be just my luck to break another..I need at least one to take next weekend!

The servos on the RPG are hitec 645MG with 9.6kg/cm torque.
You suggested futaba s3152s for the Rex with 87oz at 6v and 69oz at 4.8V.
the hitec 485HB has the following spec,Stall Torque (4.8V): 66.6 oz/in. (4.8kg.cm)
Stall Torque (6.0V): 83.3 oz/in. (6.0kg.cm), similar top the futaba and With a top ball bearing, heavy duty, high impact Karbonite� gears but only cost £9.965 from GC.


Hope to have the RPG control rod repaired for saturday but the begi will take a bit longer may even replace the head with a RPG style. Bill

The Hitec sounds better/stronger and cheaper than the Futaba one I use. I will remove the Futaba servo arms in readiness for your Hitec arms as these wont fit. You will need to drill and tap out for an M3 bolt but...with some of the Hitec servos I have bought in the past they come with an Alloy arm with an M3 tapped hole already in? Would be interesting to know.
I'm sure the begi would be an easy conversion to a conventional type head, a shame the parts are no longer available

Does the 485 have the same outer dimensions?

I cant get anything from Paolo this year for the raffle but Spiros has donated one week bed and breakfast for two at the RC Hotel Corfu for your raffle.
