Build Log
The old EDF Mirage 2000 with new build

Hi Guys

Before 2 years i got from Hobby-lobby.com the EDF Mirage 2000 RTF,,,,,,
its sucks
once i fly the thing it fall and crash there was a little breeze though
so i got another one but just a kit with the new "gold color motor" the old one was blue, i changed the ESC but i run it with full throttle it started to generate red smoke from the speed control i gave up.
so that was before 2 years now i decided to run it again but with new electronic build, so he so far what i have now:

- transmitter & receiver radio control futabu programmable
- the body of the plane very new didn't fly yet
- the old blue motor and the gold one ( with squealing noise )
- servos ready
- landing gear
- charger
- 2 lipo batter 1300 mAH 11 V
- 64 mm duct fan unit
- balancer

now we need 2 things that will determine how good the Jet will fly
Motor
ESC

now the old motor "the gold one" use to drain 175 watt and it a 4200 KV
and the ESC 18 amp

so i want to go with something better and i need to share me your ideas
here what i have in mind i will post the links for the motor:

Elite 400 4200 KV

or should i get this

Elite 400 3700 KV

and for the ESC

25 A i think is good right?

so please can u think with me and tell me idea or useful links to purchase motors & ESC

i will provide pictures later of the Jet

Thank you

Get a motor in the 4500kv range that can run on 3s lipo and get a higher C rated lipo, should pull about 25amps. Would fly fine.

Id stick with the 3s 1300mah but get one rated for 25C, most stock batterys are 15C maybe 20C. The higher the mah capacity the heavier the battery, best to stick with the size it was intended to use.

I have some of these batterys and they have excellent performance-

i will video it

also am thinking of spraying the mirage with shiny thing for foam to give it a reflective look cool right!

if things go good i will add retracted landing gear and some leds (lights)

i feel this thread will be useful for other people maybe, i hope so
