I would like to know the center of gravity of the SU 47 LANXIANG

I do not trust in what is written in the instructions for use of LANXIANG

I use the one from the manual (if I remember correctly it's at the beginning of cheater holes)

Ive got 100+ flights on my freewing f-18, can anyone compare how the big su compares to the 18 ? The 18 is very stable. After reading thru this thread if built and balanced right the big su is a good handleing jet..... cant decide to finish or sale it... mainly love the look's. Lee

At least from my experience, the Su-47 is anything but stable. Especially if it is build with heavy components, you have only two options: Fly fast, or fly faster. The wing's profile is very thin and symmetrical, it's a speed profile, not an easy, slow, forgiving profile. Also, there is the issue of getting the angle of the canards right. IIRC it should be about 3 degrees up for horizontal flight.

IIRC some people had success with a very stripped-down version of the Su, e.g. no gear, no tv, and even fixed angles to the canards. Apparently it flies much easier when it is built light.

Hello Xstorm! I see that you are using what seems to be the TRUST 70A ESCs.
I have just bought a couple of them for my Su-35, have you already tried them, do they synchronise correctly? Do you use the BECs of both ESCs at the same time or you have disabled them and are yousing an external UBEC?

Interesting ideas.
  • Interesting way of guiding the many cables through the frontal ducts.
  • Removable wings, oho.
  • Screws with little carbon pieces. Looks smart.

How heavy is it? Any effects upon the screws, from the vibrations of the fans?

I do not use the BEC of my ESC TRUST

I use a BEC CASTEL 5A

My SU 47 weighs 2210 grams without lipo

With 2 lipo 4S 2200 it weighs 2720 grams

I have not yet tried to make turn my EDF in maximum. But the system of assembly by screws is much stiffer than by collage

My SU 47 is going to fly on Saturday

I would not like to have of problem with a bad center of gravity

Is that of the note LANXIANG correct?

Su, you can just pull the red wire pin out of the connector. This way if you ever need it again you can just push it back in. There is a little tab on the connector for each pin and you can gently lift that and the wire will pull out.

Warning: With that weight, it will be a nightmare to fly. Mine did weigh 2.800 gram. It could only be flown fast, or faster !
