Cool
Horizon Hobby says the JR-compatible Spectrum modules will ship soon!

Yesterday I contacted Horizon Hobby about the DSM2 AIRMOD w/AR7000 JR-Compatible Spektrum module with 7-channel receiver for module-based JR radios like the XP8103 and XP9303, and I just received an answer that "this module should start shipping in the next week to 10 days." I also asked if the price would stay at $109.99, but that question wasn't answered. I went ahead and placed a back-order for one and got an email acknowledgment, so it looks like I should get the old price even if they do decide to raise it.

Well I was told by a pretty reliable source that they are actually going to come down to $99.99, not go up in price. The guy works for Spektrum and said they are lowering the price to $99.99 to be more competative.

But that's what an AR7000 receiver costs all by itself. Will they come down on those too?

Whose cost? Yours or Horizon's?

What? I have no idea what Horizon's costs are. I mean that if you click the link, you'll see the AR7000 receiver listed for $99.99. If mechengineer03 is correct about the module-receiver package being reduced to $99.99 then it would logically follow that the AR7000's price will be reduced as well.

(And you mean "whose cost". )

I got my module and receiver last week, and now Horizon Hobby's web site is showing them as in stock. The price is still holding at $109.99 though. My total price with shipping was $117.98. Also, the AR7000 is still listed at $99.99.

Does the module contain all the programming to match a nine channel radio?
how many mixes are contained within?
And how does it handle the mapping of the switches?

I never looked into the modules but instead got a dedicated X9303 2.4. So ...Curious.
Cheers.

I assume it would be just like using an old 10-channel 72 MHz receiver like the R945S with an XP8103 - Only the first eight channels will work.

They got some in a month ago, I got mine, and now they're sold out again.

It looks like the demand for these modules is greater than the supply.
