I mentioned this to you earlier. It is getting glassed. I coated it with thinned epoxy to stiffen it up a bit before I glass it.
I know the right way would be to make a plug, but for a one off test, this was faster. Your the glass man rodger. if you wanna make 'em an sell 'em, go for it. ![]() .............................. Here's the first layer of glass. I only have the .5 oz stuff on hand, so I'll do a few biased layers. |

LOL...Make YOU a plug ???
............that's what you told me when I asked ya to make me a set of ducts for my Byron F-20, for $$ Remember? ah ha..I dont' just sit here with my thumb all day. I have weekly commitments, and plenty to keep me busy, being the house husband AND cooking every day for wifey when she gets home. Yup. ![]() Besides, I've never made a plug (yet). It wouldn't hold up to your standards. Just look at all that extra epoxy on the first layer. Being flexible, I couldn't squeege it too hard. (the next two layers were much thinner )So THERE... ![]() ![]() Besides, your up as late as I am.

RVincent--
Just thinking-- per given airframe--Lift must equal or exceed weight--Lift creates drag--More weight added means more lift needed which means more drag created-- More weight usually means more trim to create more angle of attack to create more lift which creates more drag--Drag, of course, effects speed. Weight also effects acceleration, as you mentioned. A ground based vehicle's top speed may not be as affected by weight except where related to rolling resistance. --Of course, added weight is probably all relative to size of aircraft and power system--an extra pound in your A-4 compared to an extra pound in my PH3 f-16, for example. |
