Hi Rodger,
Replacement rotors will be available to customers who purchased the matching size EDF units only. Please note the following liability statement from the mfgr that I posted earlier. Due to the High fiber content, and stiffness (and therefore brittleness) The rotor should not be run in a plastic housing. Even after proper "run in" of the fan, the rotor clearances are quite miniscule. (which contibutes to the high thrust)

.................................................. ............

About ours this Series Metal EDF Power system
it's to improve the old type Plastic material EDF power system
because old system when motor in the high speed the high hot heat will to cause
the plastic material to dissolve then to cause the FAN to explode !!
and Fixed on the airplane after if setting not too good the Plastic EDF pipe also easy
to change the shape to cause the FAN explode !! ............

or you could sell them to people that know how to correctly setup a custom edf....im not to interested in the housing, id like to cut some down for 65mm...if i can do it with a britle e-flite fan, i could probably do it with one of these....just a thought.

Well, I just ordered 2. One for using and the other for destruction testing. If the later holds up with a 3300 mah 35c 5s then it will have a useful life, otherwise.....well that is the whole point of a destruction test isn't it. J

I guess you can't please everyone. I thought it was great that all the connectors were included. And that the motor side was already soldered.
You won't need bigger connectors. Some motor come with connector, some without. the diff of a few grams won't matter at these power levels.

efflux RC TEST JET PROGRESS....

Flapdown,
The reply above was from me, (forgot to switch to business mode)
.................................................. .............................................

Finally got off the PC and made some progres on the test jet tonight.
The final glassing is done (tailerons) and ready for primer.
I assembled the EDF/motor unit. I love it...OK, so I'm biased, but that why I got into this. The parts are nicely machined/molded and fit together like a glove. The fan adapter is mounted to the motor shaft via 2 set screws. No fiddling with motor position to center the fan!! there's about .015-.025 clearance between the blade and the housing. All the way around.
Please note that this unit must be assmbled with Heat transfer compound. The preorders will include the compound. but I think the supplier wants to charge me later. We'll work that out. My one sEDF sample did not come with it but I had a tube.
I got the ESC, BEC and rx wired up to the motor, temporarily mounted it in the jet, was just about ready to run it up.........nd my wife goes to bed!!
I was only able to run veeeery slooowly......so, tomorrow's another day.

Here's some pics.

Motor mass is one of the ways needed to dissipate waste heat. I prefer at least 160 grams for a 28mm motor and a heatsink on top of that for anything aproaching 1Kw.
