attended the nats but hung back regarding buying motor selection, will wait till i have got the TL. just been looking at one set up and it is a mega 16/15/2 with a jeti spin66 esc with a 4.7x4.7 prop with 2s pack or a 3s pack. i have a 16/15/2 and a jeti 70 advance wondered if these would suit the TL.

As you already have them, try them. On 3s that motor will scream and give the T.L. good performance, but if you're not happy after a few flights then try one of these perhaps.....http://www.brchobbies.co.uk/?page=shop&item=387
Didn't go to the Nats myself, spent the morning flying my Slipso instead!

Did you buy anything nice at the Nats, or was it a flying visit!

on 3s with 16/15/2 do you reckon i should invest in a jeti spin 66 because of flying at partial throttle to start with are try my jeti 70 advanced esc

If your Jeti 70 Advanced has BEC and more than 50A capacity it has to be worth a go. Just check that there is enough space behind the motor for it to fit and you may have to shorten the 3 leads to the motor too. I shortened mine back to the circuit board to lose a load of excess cable. It makes the installation neater and saves a small amount of weight.
I'm using a Waypoint 45A ESC with BEC and it's behaved faultlessly so far, but I don't often use part throttle.

BTW, be sure to cut out the cooling holes on both sides of the nose as these are necessary to aid cooling to the motor and ESC (they look like shark gills when you've opened them out).

ben-d-wing, apparently after trying a german website the order for the turnleft is at least 4 to 5 weeks. the uk site have the covered version in stock but wanted the ready to cover version . a extra £30 for a below par covering does not go down well will have to see. had some time spare this afternoon and must have looked at all the pylon, hotliners on the market. also looked at the sprinter but not sure how fast it goes as a hotliner. whats your next suggestion after the turnleft.

Phew, a tough one that........................How about the Micron from T9 Hobby Sport, at £100 it's got to be worth a go maybe?
Here's a link, just scroll about half way down the page past the Starling...http://www.t9hobbysport.com/static/Starlingpro.asp
Failing that, there's always the Simprop Micro Excel. As it has exactly the same MH43 sectioned wing as the T.L. it ought to be a real little hotrod....http://www.modelmaniacsonline.co.uk/...ManCode=311200 ...A bit expensive perhaps, but cute! and you needn't put a folding prop setup on it either.

Hmm, having checked out the Micro Excel further I've decided that this will be the plane to replace my T.L. if I bin it!

going to order the turnleft today, do i get one from a german site cover the wing with glass cloth, poly -c maybe make the wing stronger save £60 but wait 4 to 5 weeks, or get one from gliders uk ready covered. the covering does not look fantastic but probaly better than my attempt at covering. after shipping the cost is £200 seems a lot of money for what you are getting. make my mind up for me.

Try here for a T.L. perhaps.............http://www.scalegliders.co.uk/ccp6/i...29_Pylon_Racer

The problem is Simprop have never been cheap models, but they are fairly good quality. My personal choice would be for an uncovered one and just Solarfilm the wings and tail. Glass clothing is not really required and don't forget that the plane has 'live' hinges so you'd need to be very careful not to get epoxy into the joints.
I can't really make your mind up for you, that needs to be your choice, but if it helps I have no regrets about getting mine, but I don't happen to think that it's value for money either ( I'm a tight wad though! ).

i dont use epoxy i use poly-c which is like a clear varnish but has a additive for adhesion, no smells no mess and is water based. really good stuff. the company in the uk which has the TL charge more for shipping than being delivered from europe, typical of this country a lately. will let you know which one i went for.
