This is mostly true because all 2.4Ghz Rx are microprocessor-based whereas MHz ones were mostly not. Microprocessor-based Rx are inherently more susceptable to power glitches and slower to recover (due to reboot/reacquisition times). All the leading systems have acted to minimise their reboot/recovery times so it is less of an issue than it was at the start of this new era, but I think the generalisation still holds.
