Yes, that's why I shared this news.

Perhaps you guys with your 3D Yaks and the Surfer Dude can learn to fly in a smaller space such as behind the Chapel? I'll bet the Sukhoi BNFs can dodge the phone poles back there, at least Most of the time! And/or perhaps you have some electrician friends who also happen to have chain saws and/or a crane!

We may get lucky with the weather again today...I hope so. I finished-up the X43 last night (canopy, whistles) and I'm looking forward to flying it again.

It's the Plane, Stupid, but it's soooooo Fragile!

I dusted off my Divo today, tossed it into the air, and Bob quickly wanted to fly it. He did wonderful things with it till the landing. Pretty Close, but no cigar! He kindly repaired about 4 breaks with Craig's foam-safe CA and kicker.

After work tonight I stopped back at the PG to try it out for myself. I flew it like a plane, rather than a 3D machine. But it was Wonderful! Flew where I pointed it. Did loops, rolls, inverted flight, even knife edge-even though I don't know how to knife edge! But my landing was a little similar to Bob's earlier in the day, and the bottom wing broke completely in two.

It is Soooooo Wonderful to fly a light, powerful, plenty of control surfaces plane with no bad habits, till you land just a tiny bit harder than you planned and it breaks into pieces. I can see now that a lot of my struggles over time have not all been me, but partly can be explained by the plane I was flying. Guess I just need to buy my foam-safe CA and kicker by the gallon and plan on using it once per flight. Till, I suppose, there is more CA than plane left!

Looks like Beautiful weather Today, perhaps much of the week. I have my Divo with 3 LiPo packs (2 new ones, a little smaller in capacity than the one I've been using) and my Delta-Suhkoi with 4 packs. Let's Go Fly!

Sunday late afternoon I took these two planes out to Discovery Middle School to fly. Turned out it was so windy that I did not risk the Divo. I did fly the much tinyier Sukhoi and I did just fine with it in the strong and gusty wind. Go Figure! Except that the rudder still only works for left, not for right (finally diagnosed and fixed that Sunday evening). The wind came up real strong, and I broke the GWS 5045 prop tip off on a hasty landing. I sure did not expect that to happen. Replaced that prop overnight, and I'm all ready to go again today at PG, and perhaps tonight at St. Mary's.

Yup that was Me and Jeff (Vicarious). It looked like you can fly that 250 pretty good too! I had the Heli and a couple of 3D planes, and Jeff stuck with his Su-26 today. Feel free to come over to the other side and join us. We started going to that side a couple of weeks ago...it's much better in the shade. Jeff, Jim, Craig and I are out there pretty much every good weather day about 1100.

Edit: Man you guys were quick on the post!

Nice to meet you guys today and wow that was some great flying with the jet and the helis Bob! I really enjoyed it. I'll break something out and fly next time.

Welcome Pen, AKA Darren. You showed us some good stuff with your big TRex and some great tail flutter with that EasyStar look-alike!

Sorry I was off and away yesterday and I missed flying with you guys. Better weather than we had today. Bummer! But I always enjoy going to R/C Hobbies, and I don't get to do much with Chuck since he got into larger wet fuel helicopters.

I asked Bob today to bring in his DeltaStorm templates. I'm thinking of leaving off the canards and going for pure S p e e d! I'm thinking 100 MPH as a goal.
