I ran home at lunch and got my Sukhoi BNF. Missed about half the fun, but better than missing it all!

It was so windy today that my Sukhoi box got blown off the bleachers. That's a clue. I flew anyway. My new transmitter does not have a wind telltale flag (yet). So I was not as aware of the wind direction as I usually am. The wind kept shifting directions, which was no help at all.

Anyway, I flew and tried a few things. Did a loop from a dive. Did a left roll and a right roll.

Realized at some point that my new prop was cross-threaded, so I tried again to get that right.

Realized at the end of the session that one half of the elevator was no longer connected to the other half. That explained a few difficulties.

Fun in the Humidity!

Jim

...and you missed my heli crash. That ends my streak without a crash...made it more than a year. At least that's out of the way now. The heli should be back in business tomorrow.

Brought my Sukhoi and my Superfly clone today, but I'm not sure if I'll get to fly at lunch.

Bob:

So sorry that you crashed, and doubly sorry that I was busy flying my Sukhoi and missed seeing it! Next time, please warn us before you crash!

I've repaired my elevator, switched to a GWS 5043 prop, recharged my 4 tiny LiPo packs, and am ready to fly today, weather-permitting!

I can't make it today. I have other obligations.

I crashed my surfer yesterday , I don't know if it will be easier to fix it or just build another. Is anyone placing an order for surfers soon?

Today Bob and Apparently Jeff were off at a Fair.

Craig came and ate Chicken. He said there was not enough wind today for him to fly!

I flew my Sukhoi and my Acromaster. I flew both of them inverted some. I can see now why I was having so much trouble trying to fly the Outrage inverted. These planes will fly inverted and are happy about it. The Outrage was very unhappy inverted. I live and I learn.

With a bunch of lead added near the nose, the Acromaster CG is actually a little ahead of the suggested range, but I flew it today better than I ever have before. I felt like I could fly it, and that I might even learn to like flying it. It goes where you point it. I did several inside loops and some rolls. It's not affected by the wind gusts nearly like the little Sukhoi is. Well Duh!

Perhaps having my trusty Outrage go on the injured list (wing strut fell off in flight!) was a blessing in disguise.

Jim

Nice turnout today, nice weather, and good flying, but altogether Too Many Crashes!

Jeff's Mustang left the skys unexpectedly, and my Acromaster came down hard due to pilot error. As Craig said, at least I did not dump it in that parking lot full of expensive cars over there! I took some photos of the wreckages.

I think the Acromaster can be fixed ....... again, but it won't ever be pretty again.

I did not catch what Jeff said about the prognosis on his Mustang.

But at the least when we crash our R/C planes, we still go home safe and sound, if a little less than excited.

Jim

Update: Actually I felt really bad about crashing the Acromaster for the next several days. I put it towards the back of my repair list. Don't know when I'll get to it again.

Exercise! Exercise! Exercise!

We were told to "please avoid going outside"

So looks like I'm stuck inside for a while.
