Flying my 300X at WBC:

Bob: "Have you crashed that thing yet?"
Me: "Not yet"
Bob: "I shouldn't have said that while you're flying"
Me: "I'm not superstitious" ... "OH NO!!" ... "I guess I'm superstitious now"

The real pisser was your timer went off right after the crash.

  • Main Gear
  • One cyclic servo
  • Main Blades
  • Probably main and feathering shaft

Even though I'm not superstitious either, I still feel bad for my buddy.

Got a meeting at 11 today so may try to fly once or twice before it. Can't waste weather like this...

Sorry to hear about your crash, Darren. It sounds really bad.

I won't be able to fly for some time. Too much work, TDYs and most important the family is keeping me busy. It's too sad... two new planes but no time. I guess I have to wait until spring.

Madiened the mini! Had a slight issue keeping the prop on but managed two batteries. It flies sweet still needs a little tuning but its definitely a great small space plane...

Glad the maiden went well Richard. You probably need to use two orings if you're using a prop saver mount.

Thanks for the crash condolences. The crash looked bad but damage wasn't actually that bad or expensive. I picked up repair parts from Rick's over lunch so it should be flying again very soon. I didn't buy another set of CF blades though. I plan to run the stock woods for a while.

Yea the orings they give you with the motor didn't even make it in the air and that was two.. They were too small and the ones I had were too big except for one I had in the bottom of my flight box.. So far it's holding but I need more..

That's good to hear. Again, I'm sorry for saying that.

I guess it can now be said that Darren will be sporting wood the next time we see him with the 300x.
