Anyone rebuilt a Senior M1?

How difficult is it to dismantle the various pulleys and backgear in the M1's
body. I need to replace all the belts and check/renew shaft bearings. Anyone
done this before and know the pitfalls? Any other gotchas to watch out for while
renovating the rest of the lump?

If anyone owns an M1, perhaps they can tell me this: why are there two levers on
the early saddle but only one on the later version? What is the right-hand lever
for on the early saddle?

Cheers.
