The version 1.1, and 1.2 BL-Ctrls have solder jumpers that can select 1-4, so the software just looks at the jumpers. Now that they allow up to 12 motors, they have 3 versions of software. The normal version looks at the jumpers, and addresses them as 1-4. The "5-8" version uses the jumpers to select 5-8, and I'm pretty sure you can figure out what the 9-12 version does :-)

Actual addresses are.
// Motor number 1 (Front) is 29 hex or 41 decimal
// Motor number 2 (Rear) is 2A hex or 42 decimal
// Motor number 3 (Right) is 2B hex or 43 decimal
// Motor number 4 (Left) is 2C hex or 44 decimal
// Motor number 5 is 2D hex or 45 decimal
// Motor number 6 is 2E hex or 46 decimal
// Motor number 7 is 2F hex or 47 decimal
// Motor number 8 is 30 hex or 48 decimal
// Motor number 9 is 31 hex or 49 decimal
// Motor number 10 is 32 hex or 50 decimal
// Motor number 11 is 33 hex or 51 decimal
// Motor number 12 is 34 hex or 52 decimal

Cheers,
Rusty (still haven't gotten around to the UAVX)
Thanks for the address map Rusty. I will add this to my documentation and cross check all the addresses.

I looked the MK sources and they still seem to support 52h+motor_no x 2 as well.

12 - would sound like a real swarm of bees. We know about the triplane law of diminishing lift though

Greg

Cheers,
Greg

Hi All,
Just want to let all know that I confirmed the latest UAVX 16-Hex is working normally with the HOL ESC.

Thanks Ken - good news. Which version of the ESC are you using V1.0 or later?

Hello,
you can tell me how you addressed the HOL ESC?

I have:

HOL_ESC_ADDRESS--->UAVX
1.............................>Front
2.............................>Left
3.............................>Right
4.............................>Back

Thanks

Danilo

HI Greg,
The ESCs I have are TP type PWM ESC conversion with Quax's hex file.

Danilo, I know for sure 1 is front but can't remember the back/left/right. will check it out later.

Thanks Ken. The UAVX drivers seem OK but I will add some test in the test software for the next release. As far as I can tell the MK is using the same addresses for the ESCs you are using Danilo.

Thanks - I have tried to stick to the original minimalist strategy.

Unfortunately we are now bigger than the 18F2520 can handle without using compiler optimisations which sacrifice speed. Have you tried Microchip for 18F2620 samples - they are very quick. That's where I got mine from.

Now 16F GKE with HOL ESC works !
The problem was in the arrangement of the ESC
The testsoftware-HOL indicates this addressing: ( HOL BL CTRL 1.2)

HOL_ESC_ADDRESS--->UAVP TEST SOFTWARE
1.............................>Front
2.............................>Left
3.............................>Right
4.............................>Back

but in flight configuration hol esc addressing must be equal to that of mikrokopter:

1 Front
2 Back
3 Right
4 Left

Thank you Aggressiva,kb6mcc and Greg.

Now try to solve the problem on the 18F

I should have suggested you buy directly from QuadroUFO which is now selling the 18F2620s with the bootloader and UAVX loaded. I must have been tired!

See Page 1 of this thread and QuadroUFO at:

http://www.quadroufo.com

I am sure they will get it to you quickly.

Greg

UAVPset3.0 Problem

Hi
I have a problem with UAVPset3.0 and pic 18F
here's my steps:
- I program the 18Fpic with the UAVX software via the pickit2
- I connect the cables and open uavpset. In testsoftware I press D for the initialization, I fill out the required fields.

When I press the Write button to transfer the data on the pic, I see the error shown in the figure.
Same thing if I press the read button.
It happens on 2 different computers both with Vista than with Windows Xp.

I think this is a problem that does not make me fly with UAVX

If you press D and then do a Read you will see all of the default values are filled for you. The D command goes directly to UAVX which fills in the defaults stored within UAVX. You need to do the read to see what these values are.

I will add this to the documentation.

Danilo,
Check to see that you have a current microsoft.net intalled on your computers. Also the UAVPset will not write to the PIC if the quad switch is in the armed position.
Cheers,
Jim
