Here is the image of the spot I am flying now. The dead end road is the runway, no one really drives on the "main" road, the fields are not fenced or tended, and the wind direction is right for the runway.

No houses nearby or anything else that can be damaged and no reason for anyone to get upset about being people flying there.

From Sacramento, this is off the "Grant Line" exit, one exit after "Elk Grove BLVD".

I AM the flying group!!! Thats why I started this thread, to find out where everyone else is!!!

I know not everyone around Sacramento is flying at the AMA sites.

That being said, I have met another guy out there named Jeff flying a Super Cub, and he said he had a PZ Trojan.

And the last Saturday a truck with 3 guys heading South on 99 coming from the RC Country Swap Meet saw my plane and came by, they said they were looking for a Sunday Morning flying spot (Because the Church they use is no good for Sunday flying).

I just got back home from flying out there today and am planning to go back on Sunday around 12pm (Winds/weather permitting)

Ive never even been to an AMA site, lol. Id like to get together with other local fliers sometime too, my buddy that got me into flying lives in san diego, and my other friend who flies doesnt have much free time :-/ Elk Grove is kind of far, but maybe someday for a planned fly-day would be pretty fun!

lol, a liiiiiittle too close on that close up! Man i need another trojan, forgot how much fun that plane is (been flying it alot on Phoenix). I have a p-51 BL, but that ones seen better days, eventually going to swap the guts from the mustang into a t28D frame (sure wish that one was available as air-frame only).

We've got rain in the forcast for tommorow morning. I am going to see what its like at 11:00 am, and decide whether or not to go out.

Lots of fun. As soon as I got it up a Turkey vulture cruise by and looked for lift over the same back top I was working. I followed him around for a bout 5 minutes before he gave up and moved on. There wasn't much lift out there but I did managed to hit one and climb up a bit. Lots of fun. I probably flew for 40 minutes and my pack was only down to 3.89v. Same as the one I ran for 4 minutes in my T-28.

Yah man, flying with the big birds is awesome. are you using the stock size pack? i started using 2100-2200's and love it even more.

No, all I have are 1800's. Seemed to handle it just fine.
