haha, ive had tree incidents too. i even got my Radian stuck on the side of the bluffs along the american river near the new folsom bridge, since then i have about 300' of rope and a jimmy rigged grappling hook from home depot parts in the van (has come in handy a few times since then). that was my first radian, unfortunately i wasnt able to fish it off the cliff :-(

I haven't had to climb a tree lately. Was it damaged too bad??
Nickbm3 I would love to get some onboard off that area above the American River. It is so beautiful looking down into the gorge. Sucks about your 1st Radian. Speaking of fishing, I almost joined the green movement (floating lake moss) on Sunday in Mather (see 2:15)

I keep two broom sticks in my car now lol... who know where you need them.. jk..

what a tragedy. Somewhere there's a family thats really hurting right now. I hope that they find comfort. It's beyond comprehension what they're feeling. Life is precious. I'm thankful for what I have as long as I have it to share with my loved ones and with my flyin buddies.

Well... didnt actually get it back, lol. If i did it would totally have been worth it, even if the plane was trashed, the electronics would have been a good enough recovery. It was wedged into a bush on the vertical face of the cliff, a spot i thought NO ONE couldve gotten to it, so i went back a couple days in a row after work when i still had light and kept trying. the third day i got a buddy to go with me, i was gonna anchor him and he was going to scale down and grab it... but when we got there, it was gone. Not blown further down, no pieces, nothing... just gone. i highly doubt anyone was crazy enough to free climb down and get it, and it was wedged into the bush so tight my hook wouldnt pull it out so i dont think the wind knocked it loose.

Sinai- when i get one of those keychain cameras, ill try it again (now that im more confident hand catching the plane) and get some footage, i agree, it would look awesome. could even get some footage of old folsom from there.

PS (Personal Rant Mode): The Auto shop that was working on my car was legitimate, It took something like ~several Tons of pressure/45 minutes on a machine press to get my Axles pressed Out of the bearing/Hub assemblies. Very unusual, but it happened. So I will not be slandering their company name on the interwebs.

Good Flights, it was just me and Jay out there in the morning. The control horn for my nosewheel on the Trojan Cracked, but it still took off/landed fine!

Sac was windy but I flew anyway too yesterday. Fishermen were cool with it.
