I've not my new ICE 50 connected to a Spektrum 6250 and it's hard to reach. Can I use a Y adapter to connect Castle Link while the unit is connected to the RX as well?

After 80 flights so far of plugging and unplugging the ESC I was wondering the same thing. I don’t want to risk blowing the receiver. Perhaps I could adapt a mini power switch harness.

Who makes the smallest power switch harness?

I am using a switch harness that I got with a Spin controller. On the off side of the switch it has 2 plugs, one goes to the esc, and one goes outside the heli for plugging on the data logger. If the heli is switched on, the data logger cant connect, so you need to have an isolate plug (no receiver in circuit). The switch is the best idea as you have full access via the second plug when the switch is off.

I think it would be a good idea for Castle to include such a switch in the kit, or at least as an option. I download logs after practically every flight as it is so accessible now.

What we need is a custom switch that switches all three wires. If I can find a small 3P DT switch that is reliable I will make one myself. My project list is getting too long these days.

It sure would be nice for Castle to offer them as an option.

Would you happen to have a link to that harness or could you point me to a vendor?

Thanks,

Don

Got my ICE 100a all hooked up to my Trex 600 ESP Heli last night and went to fly it....It browned out nonstop with any cyclic or collective input faster than a crawl. Changed voltages several times and appearently that SBEC cant handle it??? my align 6amp voltage Reg NEVER had this problem i hope im just doing something wrong because i really love this controller and want this to be all i need....Any help castle?

600 ESP with 4025-1100HK Motor

3 - DS620's
1 - Spartan DS760 with S9256
6s 5000mah 30+c Packs

A more descriptive way to describe what is happening would be if i move the sticks very fast they just start glitching and going full deflection, stop, other way, stop and the received is restarting itself and detects that a voltage glitch has occured which can only mean the ICE is not providing enough current or even a steady one.

I am using the ICE 100 lite on my Trex600. I removed, ie pulled out the red wire from the ICE controller and I am using the align external BEC with batt. I like the added safety of having an external batt for the radio specially in such a big machine.

So far works great comes down 115 deg after some sport/3D.

DS620's they have been tested with a current meter and they dont pull more than 2-3amps especially on the ground.

Remember, on the ground they only draw idle currents, in the air, when the rotors are spinning and there are loads on the servos, the current can increase to five times what the ground currents are.

The DS-620 is a notorious current hog. They can draw upwards of 6A each when heavily loaded.
