Castle has definitely blown away the competation with the ICE series.

Looks like Tower Hobbies is selling them at a 15% discount – better get one before they increase the price.

I have an ICE 50 on order that will go in my T500.

Any plans on smaller ( 25, 35 ) sized ICE controllers?

Do people really run that low current on high cell count?

I've got one, but I don't see much discussion about the HV30, for example..

Yes, the trend is to put 6s LiPo in small helicopters. If you double the voltage you cut the current in half for the same power. If you were running a 50 amp ESC with a 3s LiPo you would only need a 25A ESC with a 6s LiPo to make the same power.

You guys do know that we have the HV-30, right? That is an incredible controller when you think about it. It's tiny and it will handle nearly 1,500 watts. Blows me away that it isn't more popular.

I think that because of all those overrated Asian ESC’s that everyone thinks that they have to buy an ESC that has two or three times the amps that they need. For Asian ESC’s that’s true but for Castle Creation and European ESC’s you can use them at rated value.

I think that there is a lot of confusion about peak and continuous rating. Some think that if they have current spikes of 70 amps than they need a 100 amp ESC even though the average current for a flight might be only 40 amps. That’s the case with helicopters. In that case an ICE 50 would be more than adequate because it has a burst rating of 90 amps.

Every try advertising it or something?

Seriously, this is the first time I hear about it...

Wrt ICE 50 - I used it on a 500 size heli, no problems. I wasn't doing heavy (or any) 3D, though.

Maybe I'm not putting it where you are looking. Where are you looking?

It's been advertised everywhere in print media plus shown at every RC event that we attend -- and we attend more than just about anybody out there.

Here are two examples.

Print is so last century

I haven't seen them at e-shops I buy from.. or perhaps didn't notice. Looking at the pdfs - HV30 is barely noticeable.

I bought mine as soon as I saw it advertised on these forums, which was right after it was released..

Haven't used it yet, but I have one - for the same reason as Lee posted - 1500W thru a PHX-25 - sized package! My intent is to use it in my Topaz, run it on 12s at 30A.
