Thanks Fakhre, money sent, I'm waiting anxiously for your package to arrive.

Meanwhile are there any sample text strings available? And what is easiest way to change to 4800 and get rid of the GLL and VTG messages?

I got your check, I will ship the unit by today. As I talked to manufacture it fixed at 56000 BPS. Need to check with the manufacture to eliminate the GLL and VTG. The other GPS which LS20033 is more sensitive then LS20031, you can even get a good signal response with in the home due to built in LNA inside the LS20033 (I paid more for LS20033 but selling cost is same as LS20031 and the cable is free) .

That's strange. Specs put default at 9600. And other users say the LS20031 is more sensitive than the small one due to bigger antenna. This has been my experience with similar models too. Have you actually tried them yet?

Here is the diff b/w the LS20031 and LS20033, LS20033 have a built in LNA, so it good for in-door performance. Did not get chance to check the default power up baud rate. Its a new product they sample it last week. Here is the block diagram of LS20031 & 20033. ls20033 have small antenna but have LNA due to that it will get GPS signal in-side the house. LS20033 is almost half the weight of LS20031. LS20033 is around U$5.00 more the LS20031 but I am selling it for same as LS20031. Its all up to u.

DIY drones site has several guys who have been using both for some time now so probably better to depend on experience over diagrams. Also interesting to see if specs are wrong or right about baud rate too.

Apparently LNA is meant to compensate for poor aperture of the smaller patch. I know similar GPS I played with didn't quite measure up to bigger EM406 types. And small TV antennas with amps never really compare with full size. Now I wish I'd got some of the LS20033 to see for myself.

Thanks for getting mine out so quick.

LS20033 is good for two reasons,

1) built in saw filter that will filter out any un-wanted signal.
2) LNA will only amplify the GPS civilian band signal.
3) Weight is also half compare to LS20031, it up to user what he want to use. LS20033 have small patch antenna but for compensation the effect LS20033 have both narrow band saw filter and LNA.

Note: I have only 1 LS20031 left, please email fakhre@rocketmail.com or pm me. 5 pieces of LS20033 still available.

Thanks.

I got one of the LS20031 up and running w/o too much trouble. The spec sheet incorrectly states 9600 1hz default when it's really 57k 5hz. Also WAAS appears disabled. Won't work in my application unless there's a way to knock it down to 4800 1hz with WAAS but does appear to be a good deal for $40.

Takes a little longer to lock than EM406 and not quite so sensitive but much better than the ones with small antennas.

BTW Fahkre, you can't ship packages this big with a letter ($.44) stamp. Had to pay mailman additional postage.

Hi Smith

That's good you received it, please check the my previous post

1) [LS2 00 31 MTK GPS Smart Antenna]
5Hz, 576 00 bps, NEMA output: GGA,GLL,GSV,GSA,RMC,VTG

The data sheet I posted is old one which Locosystech released last year. Its all new product they just sample it for me 1st week of this month. The baud rate u are getting is as per specs. I will check the WASS issue and update u. What u are using WASS for.

I told you that LS20033 is better and very sensitive due to LNA and saw filter, I am using it for over a year, seems very good to me. I have my LS20033 at 9600bps, works good. Let me know if 9600 bps works for you, I will send you mine old one. People are not interested in 4800 bps due to slow update. What I can do that when I will get next shipment I will order one for you with 4800 bps if its ok to you.

Note (B/W me and Smith): I think it weigh under 28 grams, the bubble packing material make it think. Post office was saying they go by weight and they were ok with that, she said it tiny what is inside.

Note: I am checking 10 HZ up units too but that baud will be 115KB, for higher update and lower baud they have to cut some NEMA sentences.

Thanks.
