Amen to that! It's not that expensive for the manufacturer to do, either.

There's plenty of cheaper submicro helis but they require mods and upgrades to make them fly or keep them fly. The MSR doesn't seem like those cheapo RTF helis. For a very stable ultra-micro heli out-of-the-box, I don't see $180 expensive. Ever heard of the Micron FP?

I am DROOLING here. If it runs as well as the mCX it should be a sweet little bird. I think my 4#3 BL is going into retirement when this comes out.

Hmmm... just read the manual. It looks like they took the idea for the swashplate control ball extensions that I saw on the mCX thread and used it on the mSR. I wonder if the mSR swash would go on an mCX.

This is very interesting. It does not look like they upgraded the electronics, but I bet you could put the head on. I wonder how they did the tail motor. This would need another channel to run unless they just hooked it up to the gyro. It is also interesting that they made a new 1 cell battery that is cheaper and more c's and more mah. Now there is a 110 8c, 120 14c, and a 150 12c. They also made a more "advanced swash setting with longer arms to further control your flight. After this I think there is definitely going to be a collective pitch micro heli. It is too bad that walkera already beat them too it, but I still think the head design will be better and more time/effort will go into the production. It is interesting they give you two batteries. I wonder what the flight time is? Do you think they included more batteries because of bad flight time per pack? It is scheduled to come out late august, but I bet you it will be december by time they get it through.

according to the mSR manual flight time on the stock 120mah 14c is around 5~7 minutes. So on a 110mah 8c pack its going to be less and overworking the battery.

im guessing on the 150mah its 8~10 mins

i'll be happy of another manuf. like Walkera and others step up with their versions
competition is always good and benefit consumers.

Don't forget that a new 4#3 variant will have the 45degree flybar. New dual brushless and if your into modding you can take the variable pitch tail from a 4g6 and build a bullet proof single brushless 4#3.

I don't think those coreless pager motors are going to last that long especially on tail duty. Also remember bigger battery means more weight and which will reduce flight times and handling performance. Basically a diminishing return on performance. I think if they sold these for $60 to $80 they would be viable. But when you can get a full brushless 4#3 and seperate servos for less, I just don't see the justification for the high price.

I like the fact it comes with no bl upgrades yet. Heck, modding is half the fun anyway!!! I gotta have one just to see if one of my bl mains will work.

Not happening. Adding a converter, brushless esc and a brushless motor on these will be nearly impossible. Too heavy. These are a lot lighter and smaller than a 4#3. It needs to be something done from the start on the mainboard. I like your enthusiasm, but I think you don't have the full grasp of what will be involved at this size. I'm still waiting to see EQmod put a brushless in his 4 channel picco z.

Well you just never know. There are a lot of extremely talented and creative guys out here working on what was once thought nearly impossible (i.e., shaft driven VP tail with HH on sub-micro CP helis). I love a good challenge anyway. LOL
