Hi Dave

I used pieces of card, about 3 at the front of the tailplane.

I have now rebuilt the tail end, due to it breaking off, LOL and have removed the step in the top balsa. I just have the smooth line to the top of the rudder.

I wonder if the engine should have more down thrust and this would remove the need for the trim change?

Love the videos Dave. Good to see she is landed in one bit

Did you use flat stock on your tail plane?

Did you make the blades exactly as per the plan?

HI Dave

Sorry I have not replied sooner.

Getting things ready for the weekend trip to see Ken,
but then getting the broken car sorted and another mode of transport for work on Monday.

Your question, Yes and No...LOL

On the test flights with the Kellet-Profile..
Rich tried his blades that were mounted on his triangular head plate,
and then tried my blades mounted on my triangular head.
Both sets worked.

Dave, if you watch the video on your web you will see me crash and I break the stab and have therfore shorterned it and added thin ply to make it stronger.
She still flies very well, good design Dave.

I wonder how she would fly with a round fuselage to hide the radio?

It probably fly well with the rounded fuse. I would make a new one....do not install the horizontal fuse pieces. Then ad your formers and stringers!!! You will have a winner!

Great hearing from you man!!

Hi Dave

Hope all is well.

Yes the horizontal is used for the servos and has most of the strength, but not sure where to attach the landing gear!

I like the landing gear design it makes it look special.
However, how to get it into the fuss and keep it strong when the fuss is round, thats the design challenge.

Hi Guys,
I just got my hands on a set of blades for the Kellett Profile that were made by none other than "Super Dave" Surace himself!! I never had much confidence in my blade building abilities, but now that I've seen Dave's craftsmanship I am humbled for sure. Once again; I'm stuck flying the full scale stuff every day this month reducing my time to build. Look for another profile before too long gents.

Hi Dave,
I found the plate too no worries. Wow man, a finely crafted set of blades AND a rotor plate! I appreciate it more than you know.
