BE CAREFUL! TAKE THE PROP OFF BEFORE YOU START MESSING WITH THIS ON THE BENCH> Sounds like the throttle channel is reversed. Are you using the mixer board? If you are, remove it and plug ch3 directly into the ESC, with the pod deployed. With the motor up, you can reverse Ch3 and see if you can get the ESC to arm.

Ok. so finally got chance to try this...

Ch3 is reversed according to the instructions.
I was getting nowhere and then thought I'd check something else.
I had assumed that the wire from the servo was white, red and black (as per the other servos) and the ESC was the red, brown and orange. But no. Having swapped them around it seemed to work much better!
ALSO I had to adjust the travel on the mixer unit to get CH5 to work so all is fine now and I just have to wait for the wind to drop and the weather to improve... June then!!

Thanks for your assistance.

Terry,
To split the fuse on my ASK-21Mi (very similar to this DG) I used a butter knife and took my time splitting it at the seam so glue pulls apart slowly. It's not that hard, just be careful when you get to the T-Tail area since the foam there is not very thick.

I also had a crash yesterday, torn half of the rudder off and somehow ejected the weights up front, everything else is just fine. How should I re-hinge the rudder, tape/glue or CA hinges.

In all honesty I'm not sure I even want to repair it, thought I'd enjoy a glider, but it is alway the last one I bring out to fly anyways, maybe I just sell it as is.

I give it enough throttle so I feel it pulling and then throw it at about 5-degrees nose up. No need to do any mixing.

I launch mine on full throttle but do big throw angled upwards and put in full up mechanical trim, then centre trim when motor has cut. Subsequent motor climbs I dont use trim as power on my tired packs is less by then so just use up elevator as required.

We launch my sons DG-1000 with one hand under the forward fuse, to prevent the nose from dropping down. I throw it as hard as I can, with the left hand forward. We launched at WOT. Still a bit hairy to launch. Watch this video, to see us launch..

DG 1000 Maiden Flight (7 min 15 sec)
