When I installed the tailwheel on mine I just held it up to the light so I could see through the foam and I pushed the wire in the foam. Then I filled the hole with glue and replaced the wire and then put a lot of glue around the balance of the wire.

Be sure it is straight with the fuselage and give it overnight to dry.

Hey everyone!
Check out the NEW video on post #1 called the Clip Wing Model.
I'll post plans for that option soon

Mitchell took the Ellipso Aero model and made some great improvements!

Notice the piece of balsa he put on the top and bottom of the wing. This made the wing really strong without adding hardly any weight!

OK...I've posted a plan on the #2 post called Option Plan
That one plan has all these options...

1. Ellipse flat wing
2. Ellipse KFm4 one step wing
3. Ellipse KFm4 two step wing
4. Ellipse short aileron long wing tip
5. Clip wing flat
6. Clip wing KFm4 one step wing
7. Clip wing KFm4 two step wing
8. Clip wing short aileron long wing tip

So I guess it is a 4 option per wing.
I hope its not confusing.

Have fun with it!

Just watched the vid of the clipped wing version, man you really tortured that poor thing, and the wing lookes like it can handle the abuse just fine.

Very nice design. I will have to try one. What is the CG on this wing? I didn't notice it on the plans. I assume it's about 30% of the chord?

Yes, thats about right but it can be moved a little to suit your style of flying. The battery is on the CG, so I can use all my batteries from 1350 to 2200.

Thanks for your post and please post pictures and videos when you build. It really is a sweet plane to fly. I don't know which one you're thinking about building but I'm building a clip wing version ASAP. While it is not a true ellipse or oval shape it looks great and it does give the plane different flying characteristics. These distinguishing qualities allows for much better aerobatics. I want to go from the slow easy style flying of the original to the more exciting skills of aerobatics. I flew Mitchell's today and I really enjoyed flying it. Designing, building and painting is fun but flying this model is where the real fun is. I guess you can tell that my batteries are charged.

Thanks again and stay in touch,
Dalton

Thanks juswan2fly for all the kind comments. You made my day! You wanting to build this model is cool, that would also make my day. There's nothing more complementary and exciting than someone building my designs. Keep us posted as you build! If I can help just let me know.

hey guys i started on my LW ellipso I think its a sweet plane so far i figured i show some of the build. i did change a few things i hope dalton dont get to mad at me.i made mine where if i wanted to you could fly it a HW also and i changed the tail to a more modern style but besides that its still an ellipso.

Dalton i must say that you are a genius this is a very very simple build and could easily be changed to a RET for beginners then add ailerons when they got the hang of it then changed to a LW plane with ailerons for more sport flying GREAT JOB Dalton next i want to see a simple EDF jet from ya ...lol i could just be selfish becouse i need a home for my hyperfow system ....anyways here it is. i didnt mean tail i ment canopy in the picture

My wife and I went out for dinner so the computer has been on but I've been gone, and when I got back - WOW - I like it!!!!
I really like the idea about you can move the wing from Low Wing to High Wing on the same model. I'll have to consider that for my next build. I like the tail. If you have the same area or close to the same it should fly great. You've come up with some good stuff there. I think I see another designer in the making.
Thanks for posting the pictures and keep em'coming.

Yes sir, I like the convertible wing idea. May have to call it the Ellipso Convertible Version. From beginner to sport pilot all in the same plane! I hope you don't mind if I build one myself!
