Student pilot most likely renting the plane from the FBO and now the FBO will file a claim. If you were the insurance adjuster and after viewing and reviewing the video's, how would you call this one? Is the student pilot at fault or the driver of the SUV?

SUV failed to stop at the stop sign, that was stated and clear from the beginning of this. Student was going for a numbers touch, he was doing Cross Country, its not like it was his first solo.

Looking at the video, I am not sure the pilot would even be able to see that SUV.

No idea who is really at fault, I have to agree with Ron though.

They probably should add gates, like at a railroad. That would be funny.

Yeah, I agree as well. I think the insurance company of the SUV bought them an airplane. Looking at the video it appears that the SUV didn't even slow down. I've flown the Skylark and from the left pilots seat and the low approach I'm sure the pilot didn't see the auto. The driver of the SUV must have had that Hamburger Steak on his mind and never looked up.

He was nearly hamburger steak. Prop would have slice and diced like the Ronco Veggimatic

I do have to say that was some skilled piloting, clearing the fence by just a few feet.

I looked at the airport in question, in the above discussion, on Google earth and the runway is clearly marked with a displaced threshold... the guy landed very short.

What is interesting, and I think I would do the same thing, the approach from that direction, the runway is dropping away or the elevation is getting lower the farther down the runway, from numbers to numbers is only 2800 foot of runway...
