Flight Report!!

Maiden flight took place this afternoon, and it flew great! I cant believe how well it flies. The only issue I had was that it came in tail heavy with batt and ESC all the way up front. I guess because the tail-feathers are so large and I used a 2 oz motor, it came in tail-heavy. After rearranging all the gear a few times, I ended up just adding lead in the nose to get it to balance. The motor is a 190 watt motor, so it can handle it

Even though today was a rainy day, we got to burn two batts in it between rain storms. Anyway, great design and it is a lot of fun!! Didnt have time or good enough weather for decent pics, so we just flew it. I will be spending tomorrow at the ball field, so pics will be here soon!! Maybe on Sunday I can get some good pics.

Great news Byrdman, I'm glad you're enjoying your plane. Now, get out there on that ball field and fly.

Looking forward to the pictures and a video would really be great!

Thanks for the flight report.

Hey Dalton,
Now that the build has officially started I have been taking numerous build shots so you will not be short of pichers!
How did you get all of the electronics inside the LW version as there is no bottom to attach things to?
I have made a tray and elevated stand where I have my elevator servo and am going to attach the battery either to the bottom of the tray or on the top of the plate that will have the nuts on to allow the wing to be removable. I am just wondering how you did it

That's a good way to do it Jim. I did that on the EA II I built and it worked great. On my LW I had the aileron servo's under the wing and the elevator servo on the side of the fuselage (pictured) but I broke the servo arm. I need to replace it and fly this 'fun to fly' LW Version. Mine has been in the hangar for awhile.

WOW Jim, Thanks a lot for all the build pictures. I was replying to your question in post #4084 and went to take pictures, stopped to talk to the wife, watch somin' on TV, etc. (you know how that is) and when I got back to post the pictures I had taken, I didn't look back at the post. Started workin' on another project and when I took a look back I seen them. You're doing great! Keep the pictures coming, we always like to follow along.

Pics of my finished Ellipso! Still a little too windy to fly when I got home today, but the sun was out and it was good picture taking weather.

Nice Flying, Bob. Now that I'm done with my Ellipso, I'm ready for the next one. I want to build one of those, where can I find plans & specs

I have two planes from this guy (hes local) and has a great product and even better customer support
the best deal is to buy a short kit (as they call em) and assemble it yourself.
http://wmparkflyers.com/default.aspx
comes with all the linkages and tussing material and control horns.
he also has esc/battery/motor combos
