I'll have to read up on that one.
The geese always have the sense to stay clear, it's the seagulls that are so dumb they fly right into the dang plane. They leave messy splatters too. Scare da stuff out of em.

Awesome video's. Like being on board. I like what the man said about nothing man has invented can equal what the Falcons can do.

Great flying Gary! It handles the wind real well.

This has been like a reunion.

its not in any race, which is a good thing, still reading and mocking it up, trying to get a feel and understanding of what I am getting myself into. I got the Simulator out, trying to get some Heli time in too.

Does it fly like a heli? I was wondering how the controls worked.

The guy in the video could really fly his...until he went in.

Hey Gary, Didn't you fly heli's or was that helicow? I think that question answered it's self.

Well, I've flown some heli's but it does not come easy to me. I built a tricopter in the spring from Bob's (Signguy's) "Build a Tricopter" thread. I used it for AP for a bit but I crashed it twice with cameras on-board. I have to rework some of the connections and upgrade to a synthesized Rx and I think it will be more dependable. It takes great panoramas as you can hover and pan while the shutter clicks away. I plan on building a T-Copter this winter.

I have flown helis - but I found it not very relaxing.

I have my king 2 sitting in a box here because they just do not sell very well any more, so I took it out yesterday for about 5 minutes. Broke the blades, and a couple minor parts. Back in the box. Planning on putting up another ad - maybe some one needs parts.

Glad to see this coming back to life.

Bob

Cheers Bob!

I can break blades, doing it a lot on the Simulator. Planes are much easier.

It does feel like a reunion...haha

I tell you what, I do miss flying rc planes...well...building.

Anyone here have a stockpile of balsa? What would something like this cost?
Im thinking version 4, black silver in the first photos, would make for a nice design
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1148133
on the small side, maybe 20" wingspan

what would be a good power setup, something light, light battery, maybe 5-10 minute flight time but a small battery that would charge fast? and a light motor that would possess zip, 60+mph potential would be nice. less than 8 oz AUW, anyone have suggestions?

Im clueless.

I got Balsa, I have 2 rules though..
1) I cannot see anything worth a hoot to fly it with a small wing span.
2) If it is small and screams 60 mph, I will loose site of it even quicker.

I put my self on a 48 inch or large rule <unless indoor> and now I am working on one with 80 inch ws.

Well, I spent the day getting ready for our trip. I think we're ready to go!

I did finish a new design on SU.

I haven't built anything with balsa in a while. I need to do another balsa build. 80 inch, WOW! I've been into the slow, close-in flying, models because of the eye site thing but big would also work. I don't have anyplace to fly an eighty incher though.

Hi Bob, been awhile.

80 inch is meant to be flown close too

I have a 35cc Gasser motor, of all the dang planes I have, there is nothing to put it on.... Buying a plane to use a motor is truely the wrong direction to travel.

Now where is that really cool guy that I ran into the other night in Central PA? What great folks, if you get a chance, meet up with them!

At the club we have a term called "Bang It"! This typically means take off role and Bang it upside down as soon as the wings will clear.... Bang it, now has new meaning

Thanks dude and right back at you. They don't come any better than you and your family! Great folks for sure. I really enjoyed meeting up with you! Thanks for making it happen.

I didn't get home but for a few munites and they call me to work. I just now got back.

That guy in the video is absolutely awesome!!! Put some wheels on the wing tips. He can fly better with his hands behind his back than most people can normal. Give him the blue ribbon and call it a day.

I can't wait to get back to building and flying. Starting the first thing in the morning.
