not quite. The elevating mast at the moment is very primitive. The next upgrade would be : 1) add 1 or 2 more mast, 2) telescopic

for the moment, more video:

working periscope 2 (1 min 19 sec)

working periscope 3 (1 min 16 sec)

Great videos and cute crew.
Are you using an automatic depth controller or are you just using the pump to hover?

Just using the pump to control the exact amount of water in the ballast tank. Very easy to accomplish hovering and able to maintain this state for a long time. With my Dragon Shark and now the Song Class, I don't see any reason in using a ADC or APC.

May be they do help when moving in a very very high speed...

From your videos it looks like you certainly don't need one. No porpoising whatever during speed runs.

redboat219 - Perhaps we're looking at different videos. The only ones that show the boat running at speed and staying level are the ones where the boat is on the bottom. The videos showing the "boat's eye view" definitely show the need for some sort of leveling device. Perhaps I'm missing something?

Yes you are right. If you refer to my earlier videos you can see how well the sub can be handled.

You see this was the first time we use this camera to take under water video and everything was in a mess. Good levelling and depth control needs the pilot's good concentration, but that can be done, with a good designed sub, easily...

Skip could that camera's wide surface area have some effect on how the sub behaves?

Campang can show us some videos of the sub running high speed at periscope depth from the controller's point of view?

certainly it did. It can even hardly turn and so you see how sluggish it was...

no problem, will take more videos next time... but NOT in a very high speed. Unlike the model airplanes, there is some delay in the dive pane and rudder control for subs and so maintening levelling in high speed takes a lot of pilot's skill... using ADC to do it for you? why not stay in the sitting room to watch TV, even more relaxing...

not really done on the Song yet that needs some more trimming, but digging out an old video taken almost a year's back on my Dragon Shark:

Dragon shark periscopic depth (1 min 12 sec)

not in high speed as my pilotting skill was not that good at that point of time.....
