Hi Tom,

Be patient, some details to complete, and some minor covering adjustments to do on the fuse for not quite satisfied ...and the weather outside too bad and the ground too muddy for dressing the Lady, I shouldn't like her to get dirty..And out from home for 15 days...
regards Marc

hello Tom, Mike and all aeromodellers,

Here are the last pictures after an interryuption due to a cold workshop and other troubles..

The covering finishing step is almost completed. I had to cover the top again because unsatisfied but this will give you an idea. You will notice the fine shape of the rudder whose design I like very much and the presence of the fuse with apparent stringers and the long wings. I dress up the lady outside when covering is finished .

best regards Marc

I used white solartex as the whole sailplane is painted white first.

Finishing step has begun. You'll be happy to see that, Tom !
The LT has received her white satin cloth, (car quality paint) . Thanks to my friend Richard. Next step will be long and delicate, much masking tape has to be placed for scalloped patterns, stripes, markings and so on in blue, red and black:

Thanks a lot Tom
I am surprised that on the fuse it is red/white/red. why not ..?..Anyway this drawing is quite helpful. As you published it on RC groups, i think it is no problem to post it on Retroplane ? ...

Marc, of course you may post it to Retroplane.

I used my full 1/3 scale plan drawings as the base and then overlaid and drew in the paint scheme taken from the Ted Williams drawing published in SKYWAYS. I used the photos from the National Soaring Museum as a guide to proper placement and scale of the markings. Most likely this was the same source photo(s) used by Williams and same as those that I emailed you last year.

Please compare the drawing to those image and check my work before you proceed but I am sure this will be useful for you.

Tom,
It seems to be accurate except that the wing root of the fuse seems to be wholy painted in blue on B and W pictures...So the curved blue delimitation should start at the edge of the trailing edge of the wing..( the same as for the stabilizer and elevator colour scheme ) ...Clear?
What about the colour of the stripes on fuse ? Could you confirm both questions.;?

Marc,

I think it matches correctly. The wing leading edge tapers back to terminate at the wing root/fairing junction but it appears there is some small portion of white remaining on the fuselage fairing. Probably less than my interpretation.

I did miss the small portion of the aft fuselage in the top view - just forward of the fin root.

I'll look at the photos some more and adjust the curvature of the root scallop on the wing root.

Great work Charlie. Have you posted more photos??

Tom I am doing a build thread on the SKSS forum for now to keep the memers updated
I plan on doing a thread on RCAT soon once I get a little more done
Much time spent in the shop lately

You and Mike need to go to Elmira , Hopefully it will fly there

Marc great job on the finishes , Can't wait to see it all done
I am thinking about the one with the black trim just need a better pick of the whole plane
