thanks for the info yall i just put one with a switch on my pawnee with an .82. it has a hatch to get to the switch. i will try the system on my p-40 which has no hatch.

Hey Guy's, I started fly'in glow this season after around 7 yr's of electric - Hoo Raa!

Got 25 minutes of break in on a Magnum .91 FS and just picked up a Saito .72.

What puzzles me is that a lot of guy's here say the Saito doesn't break in untill 3 - 5 gal. of fuel is run through them! I don't see why, they are iron ringed running in a chrome bore, unless they are running excessively rich all the time, a good break in should occur way before that.

Is all the rich running keeping the engine from reaching operating temperature and preventing the ring to seat to the bore? I have always read that you got to reach proper operating temp. to break in an engine properly.

Thoughts, comments, rant's ect.

I just got a Saito 56 4stroke and the instruction manal states 40 min of run time as sufficient for break in.

If you look at page 1 of this thread at the bottom of the first post, there are some links to some good saito break-in info.

All of my saitos except one, I bought used but. The ones that were only slightly used continued to get better over time. I've not opened the new one yet to break it in.

40 minutes is suffecient, getting the needles set, especially the LS is more important than the amount of break in time.

I think what they mean is the motor is not set it it's ways yet . Kinda like how we get in our old age . . In this case it's a good thing though .

I've probably run about 80 oz through my 82 now. I have turned in the LS about one turn. I think it is still a little rich. I did notice that as I leaned the LS I actually had to richen the high speed as it started to go lean.

What do I look for as I continue to slightly lean out the LS? Does the pinch test work? Or do I just keep going until it sputters when I accellerate and richen it up a bit?

U, remember to set the LS needle with the HS needle at absolute peak and you'll get it right the the first time.

If you go too lean on the low end it doesn't sputter if you hammer the throttle . It is just a long hessitation before it comes on full throttle . Too rich on the low end will sputter and cough when you hammer the throttle . The pinch test works but I like the hammer the throttle test . Thats gana tell me if it has what I need to pull out of a hoover quick or an ohh crap dumb thumbs move .
