I've just got done with a JR XP9303 for a friend, total power drawn for this one is 38.5mah, still too low...hehe so it can be on all the time without draining your pack. Note that in reality it is not as blue as it looks in the pictures, these pictures were taken in a brightly lid room, camera doesn't do justice at all, i can't get a sharp shot for the life of me.

For those who prefer, I can make the light brighter but the text will become harder to see and draw more power and lessen the life of the EL light itself, not ideal. This is the perfect brightness for the purpose...once again, it is intended to help you see in low-light condition, not bright daylight. Any comments and opinions are welcome.

Took better pictures, just updated...

Where does the on/off switch for the light go on the XP9303? Do you intend to also do a white light for the 9303?

there is no extra on/off switch, it is wired such that when you turn on the main switch the light is on which looks like a stock design

I can do a white one, but you can see the DX7 for example. I don't plan to actually do a white one in the 9303 again since its basically the same appearance as DX7. But in my opinion, white would be a much better choice on the XP9303 because the text color of the this TX appear to be dark purple so it'll be easier to see with lighter background, however that is a personal perference, blue isn't at all that hard to see though.

My DX-7 already has the dimension enginering switching reg. mod. and a home made nimh 2100 mah battery so i figure the next logical step is your lighting kit. Thank you for helping me further customize my equipment and please if you can would you enclose a catalog of your products in my shipment ? Congrat! You did a great job!

I noticed the light isn't fully covered at the bottom, you may want to move the light down a tiny bit and it should be perfect.

Thanks for the great review

Happy flying!

Interesting thread...looks suspiciously like the one I developed, spending 100's of $ to get to figure it out. It even draws the same amount of power (about 39ma)...what are the odds of that?

Backlighting the Display of an X9303

Here is a PM you sent me on June 9th:

how much is the whole kit? I might need one for my 9303.
I am sure there is no relationship to your "new" low power backlight kit and your PM to me above, correct?

The attached image is from your web site instructions...those that ordered my kit will recognize almost word-for-word the first sentance or two that I included in my original PMs back to those that requested kits. I don't do this to make money (never did)...just to cover my costs and time.

I have never purchase any of your kit and you know it. I decided to develop these out of my own interest way before I send you that PM, just didn't get the final result i want until now. I did use your word from your PM about the installation note and but the this kit is entirely my own work.

ptt81, I never said you purchased my kits...but the wording in your insructions on the skills required on your site is curiously similar to the wording I used in earlier PM replies to people. You took an idea to use EL panels for backlighting a 9303...not an original idea (not even my original idea). Heck, I did not invent this stuff either.

Let's just leave it at me being disappointed...
