GPS triangle Race - a question

On page 18 of the July 2009 "RC Sport Flyer" an event for large aerotowed scale sailplanes is described. The event, which uses today's advanced tecnology, looks both interesting and challenging. Though I've reread the article a couple of times, I still have one question: Does the pilot stay in one spot during the flight or is the flying done from vehicles on the "course" like current X-country flights?

The pilots stay on one spot during the flight. The task is similar to the the f3b distance task, only with three turn points instead of two : fly fly a much rounds as you can!
