What's up with all these RCSE posts?

I went to check for new posts and found a bunch from RCSE along with those from the usual forums. What's up with this? Do we really need these and other usenet groups spamming us with useless stuff?

I usually prefer viewing by new posts, which lets me see all posts in all of the forums since my last visit.

When I am in a hurry, I will go to My R/C groups to only look at my favorite (subscribed) forums.

With all of the RCSE posts showing up tonight (that are mostly unthreaded), there were more than double the number of new posts tonight. That much noise will drive me away from this view of all new posts.

Please make all of this RCSE noise go away!

I agree with the backlash.

RCSE is nice because many of the Ezone people aren't on it.

Ezone is nice because many of the RCSE people aren't on it.

[Actually, it more has to do with the norms that have evolved for each community and less to do with what people actually participate in each place, but I like the division as it is.]

I wish the "show new posts" feature had more options, or am I missing something? It should be easy to say "show me the new posts in the forums I'm subscribed to", but last I checked I couldn't find an obvious way to do that.
