I just built a squall using 2w20 and 6904 het fan.. In 4s it does 120mph. You can go with the 2w18 and get a little more out of it but it reduce your flight time a little.

Not too heavy. Some carbon running thru it for strength. Flys great. Still very stable.

2200 and 2650 mah. FLight time? That is a good question. I only have five lights on it of verifying throttles runs.

i dont know what to even guess really. At full throttle it is 76amps. so lets say 30 to 40 amp average run. So between 3 and 5 minutes depending on how hard i push it.

Ya i figured trying to figure my flight time out by doing the math would not be reality. I bet it is more like your numbers.

I will know Saturday if the rain stays aaway.

Think I'm gonna do the wemo 2w-20 combo since the amp draw is lower and it produces 700w on 4s!! Yeah for lighter batteries

Is there any advantage to getting a HET fan or a wemo? The HET set ups are cheaper

Wemo produces slightly less power (rotor blades less aggressively pitched) but also regarded as easier to setup and balance. HET power comes at the cost of extra amps though.

I've always used Wemotechs with HET motors.

Got in a few laps saturday. On 4s 2200, 4.33 min approx. Here is the download of the run. The run has just a few short burst full throttle runs.

Zach, If you want a medium budget go fast system, think about a Velocity 28-60 4200kv/Wemo/ice100 on 4s 4000's. Wemo is a tighter built fan over the HET imho, one may be faster the other out lasts and the rpm a velocity 4200 makes will push it. It may weigh a fuzz more but it will not matter as long as you reinforce the foam

What is the best elevon upgrade. At WOT it started to roll right on me. When i brought it in i was missing the elevon trailing edge outboard tip on my right side (about a .50 wide). I guess it fluttered off. It was there when the day started then about mid flight the roll to the right started.
So tape them?
replace them?
glass them?
trim the other side to match and keep flying?

I already went with the same power system as par and a castle ice 75 wish I had read this last night lol. Oh well.

Par did you do CA hinges or is it per hinged?

I bought an airbrush today and tested it on some foam so gonna do a paint fade on the squall.

You will be happy with what you bought. Very common set up that works good.
Pre-hinged.
