The 150 is impressive but the dissing the 187 mph run of ApexAero is not really needed or warranted.

It took me what, 6 attempts to keep one in the air let alone land it! In the interest of peace among the jet threads, I'll refrain from cross posting into the Meteor thread but he needs advice on how to go fast its free in any thread.

..those are connection instructions...I need programming instructions. It does not recognize a four cell pack and I cannot get the brake to go to "on" which would allow me to use it in a powered sailplane on 3S.

Try this, turn on the Tx put throt to full, connect Rx then lower the throt stick, one beep is brake on, do it over if needed, two beeps is brake off for most KMS esc's. (TIP: move the stick while the tones are beeping)

I did try that once, but I may have not waited for the initial three beeps...so I'll try it again and report back.

...appreciate the info...I've printed it out. Hopefully it also applies to the larger esc's.

More info, those batts were donated New Old stock from a friend. They were/are 3700 NRG 5s 35c packs that got tired rapidly, they got cooked during the F-35 Cool42 maiden, I mean they were so fat we had to spread the body to extract! The fatter it got the less air went over it

I still fly my 3S Squall with stock setup and VT. 3S/2200mAh Turnigy works well. Model weight is complete 680g, that and the VT help to land with low speed in the meadow.
Therefore I don't want more power in the Squall up to the stock setup works---what is the lifetime of the stock EDF ? Experiences ?

Anyway, the Squall is a great plane, every flight it's really fun

Well I'm very sad to report the death of my much loved 3S Squall.

I just loved the way this thing hand launched, its broad speed envelope and those flat spins.

Unfortunately it was a flat spin that caused its demise.

I was flying it on Saturday in overcast, but otherwise perfect conditions. I had put it into a flat spin but and then (for some reason) tried to fly it out of the spin rather than just centre the sticks and let it recover.

Anyway it was a fair way away from me and developed a nose down spin and I lost orientation.

The end result is on the below video.

Airframe and 3000MAH 3S lipo was a write off but the rest of the electrics survived.

The edf in this one was beautifully balanced but unfortunately I never buy the same model twice and I can't find another 3S setup friendly 70MM airframe.

I think the Freewing F-16 with VT is going to be its replacement.

ouch! sorry to see a crash like that , im just building a second squall , the first one has be repaired a few times and has a nice twist to the airframe , but its still flyable .
