When is FMS beta 7 comming out? Before I buy a simulator I want to try this one. Also where are the best instructions on how to make an interface cable for FMS. Are there any step by step instructions? Can you plug the interface into a joystick port or do you have to unplug the printer? Unplugging my printer means when you plug it pack in setting it up for 3HRS.

Beta 7 is supposed to be ready this month (but Michael said that in June too ). I've seen an early version and it's good.

There are many different interfaces that work but most are circuit diagrams not step-by-step instructions. If you can't work from a diagram you're probably better off just buying one.

You can get interfaces for the parallel/printer port, the serial port or a joystick port. I prefer the serial port version. The joystick one is the most complicated/expensive and involves programming a microcontroller. Again you can always buy one.

I like FMS (but I haven't flown yet). I'm building a Push-E Cat. Are there any models of popular E-models (especially the Push-E Cat?)? Or, is there a model that is close enough to the Cat that I should be practising with?

be careful. its all in german (i think). you can find planes there like the pico cub trainer, zagi and the EDF lear jet. i havn't seen the push e-cat yet.

I'm about to build the parallel interface cord. (BTW RS is clearing out the 6 pin DIN plug you need to plug into the back of the Hitec Tx's for $.07.)

But I want to look at the serial interface to see if it is as easy to build.

Also which plane best simulates the SS?
