I'd say you will be ok without cutting holes in the forward top section(Just my opinion). That top section provides a great deal of strength in the design. I have actually needed to add a bit of ballast(In the nose) to my RPG to suit my flying. I'm using a B.E.C with 3000 mah 3 cells, so I don't have the weight of a reciever battery. Your build looks great! Keep up the good work. Regards, -Mike Last edited by Boneswamped; Jul 06, 2009 at 10:16 PM. |

OK....got some RPG info for you guys.
With 4 cell A123 cells the weight is 4 lbs even. Still using the BP motor Changed over to 12x8 APC Thrust = 3 lbs 8 oz. Almost 1:1 weight to thrust ratio. I may try the 12x10 next. Dave |

Looks awesome Richie.
I just got back from flying. Again....fighting the high grass. Many runns and not working out, I moved to the other half of the field where only clover was growing and it was so much better!!! But....not much battery left with a short flight. A123s drop off FAST as you will see from my landing!!! LOL! I thought I was going to have to shove the batteries way up front...but actually I moved them back an inch. I am enjoying trying different things with the RPG. Such a fun little gyro!! Dave |
