RPG Owners

Hi Guys,
The RPG (Rich's Pusher Gyro) is my favorite autogyro of any I have owned and flown! It was designed by Rich Harris. I wanted to start a thread to track the spread of the RPG. So if you're an RPG owner of any stage from plans thru test flown give us a post.

I'm in DeRidder Louisiana, USA.

For those of you that are no doubt going to inquire about getting your hands on an RPG; before you ask check out thread below and keep your fingers crossed.

WhirlyBird Aviation

Regards,
-Mike

Hotfoot from his vast experience on the Huff and Puff gyro...Dilbert familiarises himself with the RPG prior to his first test flight expected within weeks Bill
Quick question, how do you add the thin ply "pitch pieces" to the triangular head?

Bill,
Congratulate your friend on a good build!!..you are swinging him to the darkside!!

The shims are just simply CA'd in place with a few drops, lightly rough up the bonding surface to give a good key. I have done it this way with all my 3 blade gyros and it works fine.

Regards Rich

PS...I love that pilot!!!

Me Next, Me, Me, Me!!!!

I would like to show off my Little Nellie!

Here's a pic when it was a three blader. I love the two blades set up but it took me a few crashes to get it right. Now it flies like a champ!

Hi guys been otherwise engaged the last two months but I am now back in the loop. My first Rpg came to a sad end after a hundred and ten trips the rota came off. Gyros do not fly without rotas, but number two is now flying just as good as number one .. Next project Rpg with a SC30 fourstroke, then just wait and see!.... cheers Len.

Dave, you name dropper! LOL reminds me of someone. No the Commander and I aren't hanging out together anymore, we had a falling out about the need for horizontal stabs. On the mend huh? Did you ding your RPG again?
Take it easy,
-Mike

Another brace for the pot!

Sorry to copy you Joe but your model inspired me to build a little Nellie, Bond has just sloped off for a Martini......Martini,, maybe that would be a colour scheme for the next RPG.. So far Nellie has flown once and Oh how well it did fly, I meant to do some hops but somehow it was suddenly airborne and it flew so well, great fun. The old "Really Pink Gyro" has had about thirty flights and flies well now. It had a few tumbles on take off in the early days but is much better behaved now!!
Must put some tail skids on!!

LOL!!!!!!!!!! Sorry to hear about you and Wing Commander Wallice had a falling out.

So....I did bang up my RPG. I was so excited about flying it, I basically put the battery not far enough forward. I also put different blades on and the combination made a tail heavy flight and in a turn, it dropped and hit really hard blowing out the sides at the cockpit. She is repaired and I have recover the fuse hoping to do as good a job as Richie did.

Dave
