I think its just a rounded number , the 600īs has the same limit and then the 425īs
can run 2600 .
Manufacturer with complaints experience in my opinion .

chichissport. Yeh! I know all about the eco8 size. I designed a 480 size a few years back but never pulled it through,
it was based around the 6S 3850. if anyone remembers the eco8 when lipos came out, a 3S4p 8000 was about the same weight as a 6S 3850. I been working on the 90 size now.

Well, I started on my Sniper II build today. Everything was going smoothly until I got to the head. My spindle has one of the bolt holes drilled in at a slight angle which puts the thrust bearing in a bind when installed into the grip. I guess my build is also on hold for the moment

How are the rest of the builds going?

Keith

Build update - started slowly late Friday - softball tournament slowed progress waaay down over the weekend. I had the same problem as Pete with the anodizing in one of the grips - the sandpaper/dowel did the trick.

An observation - for my experience level with heli kit building (fairly low - 2 Maxirs) it would have been a big help for a mention in the instructions of the grub screw adjusments available for the tail drive pinion and conical to free up the spinning of that shaft during frame assembly. Fiddled and scratched my thick head for a long time getting those bearings smooth. Those little circle cut outs in the frame are there for a reason I guess. A more experienced builder may well have already known this.

Agree , but now one donīt have to carry battery for 20 minutes flight just not to puff the cells.

If you fly this size of heli at less than 1600gr you will be amazed .

Cool, glad my little trick helped with the grips!

How many people would be interested in the BBT 480mm blades if I could get a bunch? (I'm communicating with them now)

The balls for the swash that I have are all 4mm, yet the compensator link N0319 inside diameter is a hair over 3.5MM.

Am I missing something, or do I have to ream the N0319's out?

Maxir and Sniper ball joints are a 3.8mm diameter ball, 3.5mm would be about right for the outer side (the inner side a little larger), make sure you are trying to pop them onto the balls the correct direction (mine only go on 1 way, the other/wrong way the hole is too tight to pop over the ball).

P.S. I couldn't help you with this over the phone, because I don't have the part numbers memorized, and you didn't mention them... (that part number is the same as the V1 Sniper).

OK - when I did the ball from the inside and the bolt from the outside of the link, screwed it in and pressed it on, it worked out perfectly. Backed it off added some Loctite and it's good to go.

The Gaui550 475mm wooden blades are like $16 and would probably be ok for beginners hovering around at low rpm.

I broke the c-clip on my Scorpion motor when I replaced the bearings with ceramics. Where can I get a c-clip? Do I need it or is it safe to run without it?
