What is the tooth count on the main gear? And what size pinions come with the kit? I'm trying to figure out what motor I might want to use and need those numbers to figure with

Thanks
-Kyle

It's still the N0501 110t main gear on both the Sniper I and II.

Depending on how many cells you plan to run, you're pretty much limited to low kv motors in the 800-1000 range. Use this head speed calculator to play around with pinions and battery sizes.

http://dhrc.rchomepage.com/calcAdvanced.htm

There are 12-tooth (N1512) up to 18-tooth (N1518), but people have also run the Logo pinions.

Donīt forget us amphogs!!! Many of us are using orbit15-12 (1200RPM/v) with 4s 3200 to 5000 mah with a jazz 40 or 55 , I run without external Bec (soft 3d 2200rpm) others run external bec for hard 3d at the same rpm ,they simply donīt let the bec(and brain ) cool down as I do.

"Hmmmm......" <---- That's JPC wondering how well the Scorpion 3026-880 and Jazz 80 from his Protos would work in a Sniper II.

I didn't realize this was a 470mm blade heli until I went to the website. Thought it was a trex 450 size from the pics (I admit I looked at the pics and not text ). What are the recommended servo sizes for it? I've already got my scorpion 1000kv motor from my old hurricane and some full size digital servos with no where to go

The frames are cut for thinner servos like the Futaba 3150, 3155, or Hitec HS81/82. But low profile servos like in the Hyperion DS line should also work fine.

I going to use all the components from my flybarless Protos. (The remains of that heli fit into a small plastic whipping creme container )

MSH Motor
Kontronik Jazz 80
Gyrobot

Haven't decided on servos though...

ROFL sorry, Pete, but have to laugh at that one . At least the electronics are finding a good surrogate home.

Ok been talking with LA...

There are going to be frameset mods to accommodate other servos.

I'm not sure how the frameset options will be offered yet.

I know HS-85's will work as well as the Savox/Align 510's (which I really wanted to use - now I just have to wait)

Will post some pictures later...

Initially it sounds like we will have to cut the upper frames ourselves, but in the future I think they will be available this way.

Here are the pictures of the Savox mounts.

The pdf shows the cut points...
