Memorial Day Fun Flying

Took the kids out for some fly time.

Specs as follows..

Heli 1 Thunder Tiger Ecureuil AS 355 Trex 600 ESP, Xera 4020-2Y, Kontronik Jive 100LV, 15T, Rotortech 600mm, Beast X V1.

Heli 2 Funkey 50 Bell 222 Trex 600 ESP, Xera 4020-2Y, Kontronik Jive 100LV, 15T, Spin Blade 600mm FBL symetrical blades, Beast X V2, Eflite 15 size electric retracts.

Heli 3 Bell 206 Trex 700N "E" Conversion, Xera 4030-3Y, Kontronik Jive 80HV, SAB 700MM, Beast X V1

I have a new 60/90 size Bell 206 fuselage on the bench at this time to replace the blue one which has a few miles on her and is time for an update to the LAFD Chopper 5 scheme. Stay tuned. I should have her painted by the end of July.

Here is a short vid of my Bell 222. Crazy fast and super stable. She's my fave!
Got a new unpainted fuse for her as well for she'll get a new paint scheme to replace the clothes she has on now.

Bell 222 flight (2 min 48 sec)

All in all a fun day!

Rudderman98,

Thanks for the great pictures and video. Is that the FK Bell 222 fuselage from Century? Did you paint it or did it come painted?

Who makes the Bell 206 fuselage on the T700?

Looking forward to your other postings as your future builds progress.

Hi rotoraddict.

Yes. It is the FK fuselage. It has a very nice paint job but alas I didn't paint it. I'm a professional painter by trade but I've gotten to be a bit lazy lately so I bought it prepainted. But the second 222 fuselage will have it's own paint scheme to differentiate it from the rest of the pack. I'll post that too once I get the colors sorted out.

The 206 is also an FK fuselage. I'll post the pic of the "New" 206 in LAFD colors when she's out of the paint hangar.

The old 206 fuselage will be up for sale once mechanics and shakedown tests have been completed and I'll let it go for cheap.

P

Glad you enjoyed the video and the pics. I can thank my long time friend tinkerpilot who got me into this RC addiction and who took the pics and video.

Great pictures and Video of the B117. Are those in the background of te first picture also yours?

Rudderman98

Yes, I know what you mean about sometimes getting lazy and just getting the painted FK fuses from Century. They are so well done and easy to mount that they can give us a quick and easy alternative to pulling out the filler, sandpaper, tape and paint gear and then cleaning it all up after each coat. My last couple of scalers were their painted fuselages. Maybe it is time to do a full blown job again.

Looking forward to your future projects.

I hear that!!! Just got back from spending the holiday weekend in Portland, OR. If it wasn't raining, it had just rained or was about to rain! I don't know how far you are from the Oregon line, but if your weather is anything like I just experienced, the only place you can fly is inside!

Of course, I get back home to "sunny" California and it's raining, cold and the forecast is for rain off and on for the rest of the week, especially the coming weekend.

Yes, the Blackhawk and BO-105 are mine. They fly really well.

The weather is great around here 360 days a year.
