Whirlwind winch-what do they look like?

Some where yesterday while meandering on the web-I saw a reference to a (now obsolete)whirlwind winch.

Was this a drum winch-servo arm sail winch. Can someone educate me?

Whirlwind winch

They were drum winches only and came in three sizes. Made in UK. All had red servo cases. They were slow and service was expensive.....Just my opinion.

Wjirlwind winchs

I used them exclusively in the 80's and early 90's in all of my development class hulls. Excellent racing winch and lite. I only had a problem with one winch, Whirlwind sent me the part and I repaired it myself. They offered good service to me anyway. I still have four of them that work great today alongside my new Hi-tech gear.

The two main models were Atlas and Olympic.

Here are specs and pics.
