Hi Alain
I'll give it a try them. My ESR is DIY as well. Ive a pretty good idea what cells are 'off' on my old nicads, not sure with my NiMh Do the batts need to be discharged first ?? Would a bad cell give a higher voltage across that cell in the pack when discharging (due to higher than normal internal resistance)?? Cheers Steve |

Hi, Steve
The best to do is charge the cells and let them aside for two or three days ... Then you measure. A bad cell will give LOWER voltage than others during discharging ... even invert its polarities ... And remember NiMh internal resistance can vary a lot with discharge state or rest ( moreover the AA and AAA " High capacity " cells !!! ) C Size do not show a huge variation ... THEM. Alain |
