Sheldon's Hobbies: Painful Experience

I made a large order at www.sheldonshobbies.com recently, and it turned out
to be a painful experience.

Firstly, their site displayed (and still does) the wrong part numbers. So I
ended up with a motor (50 euros) I don't want and can't use because it's
illegal.
Then they send me some stuff I didn't order, and the stuff I did really
need, which was on the listing on their site, I didn't get, not even in back
order.
And then to top it off, they send 50 euros worth of wrong tires - wrong part
number and everything. Absolutely useless.

So, I call their order hotline (from Belgium!), and the only answer I got in
the entire conversation is "Hey, I don't know."

My dad ordered from Stormer instead, he got the stuff he ordered, two weeks
sooner.
Can anyone else recommend Stormer or Tower maybe?

Anyways - if anyone wants to take 3 pairs of M3 *truck* Bow ties and a D5 12
single off my hands, contact me, I can offer a sweet deal.

Nothing but good luck with both Stormer and Tower.

I've never had a problem with Tower Hobbies. Although I'm not overseas.

Yes, stick with Tower or Stormer. Both are reliable. Tower's International
Surface Mail I cannot recommend though. It'll take anything between 8 to 10
weeks to get the goods, pay few $ more and get the goods much sooner (1-3
weeks).

Stormer is a bit chaper than Tower but you cannot beat Tower's web-site &
assortment.

I've also ordered through eBay and used a number of smaller, specified
distributors for my E-Maxx (rc-driven, rc-rave, xtremerc, etc.) and do not
have any complain to make yet. Only time I cancelled my order was with Imex
Tires when they tried to charge more for the shipping than the value of the
order. I ordered the same goods through Tower and the shipping was half of
what Imex tried to charge. This is because Imex uses UPS or something and
Tower uses USPS... (I love these abbreviations...)

I live in Finland.

Only if they fit E-Maxx ;-)

Used them both, like them both. It's harder to find stuff on the
Stormer site, but they have a better selection for the hardcore racer.

For web site quality, Tower is the gold standard, and I've never had a
technical problem with an order.

I've had Tower send me the wrong parts. Called them up and they sent
out the correct parts right then and just had me keep the wrong parts!
Now that's good service!
