Hello. Im new to this forum and for EDF systems. i have this EDF and 80A HiModel Pro ESC
Im looking for help with: With motor i need for this EDF for best performance? Actualy need a 2000g of static thrust.
And what is better for this EDF high KV on 3S Li-po or eqivalent RPM on 4-5 S Lipo ?
What is the best RPM range for this EDF ? im read some reviews about it and a lot of ppl getting 2100 g thust on 29000 rpm

Make sure that you will balance it before running!
I am planning of using this fan with Scorpion 3026 1400kV - this $75 motor seems to me as a most economical solution.
I bet that others, more experienced with DFs guys will chip in with help...

What battries and how many do you plan on using??

i can buy motor only from Hobbycity The KD or Turnigy inrunners marked with numbers like 36-50-08. So what size of motor i need?

Or another way. What is the best config for this EDF, to get high ans stable thrust like 1800-2000 g.
Its my first try in EDF. Thats why my questions is so stupid

yeah i bought the 89mm+outrunner combo from HC. The outrunner it comes with is ~1670kV and it's a bit of a no mans land as i dont want to run 5S (4S too low 6S too high).

i'm running this combo on an 1.6m F20 and i've pegged the max throttle in the tx to max it out at 1100W only as the batteries are two 3S 2200mAh 20C's and i don't want to fry them. once i have more flights on them i have plenty of battery room and i'm planning on 6S 2P'ing them and putting about 1.9kW into this combo on 6S. Not sure it'll work but i'll give it a go when the time comes.

I think for 4S i'd go for about a 2000-2200kV motor for about 1.0-1.3kW out of two 4S2200 for a total of 4S 4400mAh. You'd have high current and voltage losses though.
on 4S 4400:1.3kW 90A (safe option, should handle power, these motors get hot though)

Yeah that should draw about 60A... 2x 3S4400's may be a bit heavy... 2200's are about as small as you can possibly go, 3000's may be the best size for this setup, 4400's will fly for ages but may be pretty darn heavy and difficult to balance... what's it going in?

gosh, and by stovl, you mean you're making an F35 that looks and smells right but not actually going to try to do one of the hardest things with ducted fans known to man (STOVL/VTOL)... good luck if so, pics and vid... ;-)

Is there a link to an article explaining fan blades and kv?
Havnt found much on google.
Mostly threads about what specific setups people are using.
But i need ti understand WHY certain motors are better for specific edf blades.

I am currently running a 5 blade EDF, 64mm diameter, 3500kv outrunner, 4S 2200mah batt, 60A esc.

Not enough speed.
After a 3 minute flight, battery, motor, and ESC still relatively cool.
No indications of overamping.

What should i do to increase top speed.
The jet is a Freewing L39 Albatross.
What effect will the 7 blades fan have if i drop it into this power system?

for EDF 64 5 blades u need 4300-4600 Kv
