Slow Flight Airfoils

I am a free-flight modeller, currently building a P-40 Warhawk at 18" wingspan. I'd like to make this an indoor flier, with a slower speed than my other WWII models have. To do this I'm considering an undercambered wing.

Any advice?
Thoughts?
Ideas?

On some plane you can slow it down by not covering the bottom of the wing. It make it act like a under camber. The biggest thing for slow flight in light weight. Nothing will fly slow with a high wing load.

Dave Robelen tested 2 airfoils in the Aug RCMicroflight. Bottom line is that the Benedeck 7457 undercambered airfoil provided 50% more lift than a flat bottomed airfoil with a minor increase in drag.
Turbulating helped both airfoils.

Hi,

I second that. Light weight comes first, then a high lift airfoil follows. The airfoil should be thin to avoid laminar separation bubbles and should have reasonable undercamber to give high lift. Some of the older free flight airfoils (Benedek) or perhaps the MA409 (HLG airfoil) should work. I also used NACA 6410, hotwired from styrofoam, which worked good. But for really small airplanes a simple cambered plate might be the best. Do not make it too smooth or use a turbulator at these low Reynolds numbers to avoid laminar separation bubbles!
