Thanks.
I'll be using RC Timer 2836-11's (750kv) and their 30A ESC's. For props I'll use APC 12x3.6's.

Nice looking frame Tommy. I have been looking at those motors too.

I'm torn between:

A2830-14 750KV = 185Watt 30A ESC I'm using now with APC 12X3.8 prop

BC2836-11 750KV = 206Watt 40 A ESC

Anyone want to chime in?

I have used the BC2836-11, very good and strong motor. Just do a pre-flight by checking the shaft set screw and end play. I don't suggest using loctite, just keep an open eye on them.

P.S. what I really love about the BC2836-11, they have a 4mm shaft. I had some very bad crashes but I have never bent a shaft, broke a few props however.

RCTimer must have changed their recommended ESC for the BC2836-11. When I originally purchased these I bought their 30A programmable ESC's to use with them and I am pretty sure that's what it said on their site at the time of purchase. I have been using them on my quad with no problem and no high temp on the ESC's. I plan to use the same combo on my hexa. Guess I need to invest in a "watt's up" logger at some point. I really like the 2836-11's with APC 12x3.8 props. Seems a good bit more stable than KDA20-22L with APC 10x4.5 props.

George

Be up front and a straight shooter and tell us your thoughs on this subject.Dont play dumb and really be a straight shooter. Here is what I am getting at. In the real world things happen that don't help anyone but when they do happen just be up front and you will be happy to know people will not judge you when its UP FRONT. OK lets start with this write up.

Japan Times Online
" Yamaha indictment

SHIZUOKA (Kyodo) Shizuoka prosecutors filed a summary indictment Friday against Yamaha Motor Co. on a charge of attempting to export without authorization a helicopter drone to China that could be converted to military use, including bio-warfare.

On the same day, prosecutors released Kazuo Uchiyama, 58, senior general manager of the company's aeronautical operations, and his two deputies from custody, deeming only the company should be prosecuted as the three became involved in the case in service for the company, which earlier reports said had shipped to its Chinese connection several of the remote-controlled choppers that have long range and can be operated over the horizon. Under a summary indictment, the accused need not face trial or prison.

Police arrested the executives on Feb. 23 after they allegedly tried to export an RMAX helicopter to a Chinese aerial photography company, Beijing BVE Technology Co., without approval from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. Police suspect the Chinese company has links with the People's Liberation Army."

Not getting nasty here just want to know the thoughts because as of today another board dealer put word out that they will not sell programed boards due to laws in effect.

Would this mean another delay in GPS units for the new boards?

Well I don't know how hoverfly would be affected by that as their not selling complete choppers ready for action. Just the controller. Perhaps a disclaimer signing should be required on sale George.
