New camera mount on the go.
I have used a cut-off from a piece of pool noodle connector to make an above prop camera mount. It works very well will little perceivable vibration.
I am going to try and improve it further by mouldng some bathroom silicone into thick strip, or blocks, and sandwiching them between the rollcage and the foam/cable ties to further reduce any transmitted vibrations. Tom. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ...and some video.

My Quad Finished and ready for first flight :)
I'd like to thank the group for all there help and also George for his efforts in designing a very nice product. I did some filming but need to get it out of my camera. The conditions were: 10-15mph wind and it did get a little tossed a bit for my first flight. However flew rather well for first flight. Being I'm using 4 -750KV motors, a 4cell 4000 Lipo pack, plastic plates & landing gear,my weight was rather high at 4lbs.and giving me maybe a 10min test flight or less The weight seemed to drain my battery as using alot of power to get her up. I did not have any issues with the "flipping" at all. The board seem to do its job, and I did not have to do any adjustments except for flying inputs. I'm going to either make a lighter frame & plate or buy one to get some weight off. Looking forward the new board George!!
Thanks |

Blindflight,
What does she tip the scales at, if you know? CJ, My thinking is that a Quad on the whole does not require much beefing up unless your going for something intense i.e. twin inverted motors per boom, heavy duty gimbal and camera/video. You could say you only have to have a beefy Quad if your prone to crashes and even then the bigger they are the harder they fall. My Quad, which uses MK airframe squares and homemade 10x10mm alloy, is light and I crashed a good few times in the early days and it came out unscathed, except for the props. Tom. |

Fair enough tom. I'm sure I'll figure it all out when my stuff comes. I've designed three frames so far but with no carbon fiber having showed up yet I'm still just drawing. I've got a 25cm center to center mini quad, a 55cm FPV quad. And something a little more heavyweight at 120cm centers for lifting a monster camera. I'll have to post some pics when I'm next at home.

Hi,
Little problems happened this morning...I've had some difficulties to associated the 2.4ghz with the Tx, then once all ok, I've pushed the throttle, the quad took off and...no action of the sticks ![]() Fortunately (for him) the quad plunged into the biggest thicket of brambles...recovery was more painful for me ![]() Only on prop broken, carbon is strong !!! I have made the arms little longer with some carbon plates and fix a little camera on the top...Here is the movie. Maximus

Blindflight,
Crikey, 'tis a pretty build though. What is your motor distance and battery specs? p.s. if you save your photos in 24bit instead jpeg, even though the file will be much larger, you'll retain much greater quality and the overlayed writing will not deteriate. Max, Did you figure out what happened? What radio are you using? Tom. |
