Towerpro 2415-03T...any good?
My buddy was telling me there were many motors to power my Trex 450 v2 that had more punch than the Align 430XL. He likes the scorpion motors. I was checking hobby city to see what they had and this motor is 4850kv!!! At 16 bucks WOW
!!! My only concern is life/longevity with regards to bearnings etc. The reviews are pretty good but nobody reviewing has had it for any length of time at the time of the review. Has anybody had experience with this motor? I have some towerpro airplane motors and they work great .http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...idProduct=6261 |

I'm finding that the more proficient I'm getting at flying my Trex I'm moving my throttle curves higher and higher. I'm at almost 100 % all the way across and still want more power when punching out inverted (when I get scared). I just want more power, I don't know what head speed will give it to me but I do know that prolly 3000 + will give it to me. What is the stock align 430xl usually doing at 3700kv with 13t pinion?
Ok just did the math and 3700*11.3/13 gave me somewhere around 3200 rpm theoretical. You know I'm using Align pro 325 woodies, I wonder if carbon fiber blades would give me more punch?

Yes frac an 11Tpinion would be a must for this motor. Lets see: 4850*11.3/11 equals theoretical 4982k
Is this in real life going to provide more punch or bog down? I am wondering about efficiency. Some of the reviews state that it is very hungry for milliamps and are getting shorter run times. That 3700 turnigy looks good but on the discussion someone mentioned using alot of watts just to hover. Turnigy makes an SK line that is more efficient I wonder if they have one in this category...I'll go look. |
